These look like they might actually be of some use for my wife climbing in, besides looking good. Have you tried using them as a step?

They are a little narrow, but still usable and I think they look great too.

Knight Rider, they are the ones I wanted, look classier to me.
It's the missesssss car so she can have what she wants on there.

That was the one I always looked at.
Had the Jeep logo instead of your scorpion.

Re: Chrome Side Steps

I have similar side steps installed with the hard plastic tread on top. I have noticed scratches starting to appear because of the way I must twist my foot when entering. No doubt it won't be long before I will need to consider replacing the treads with something more durable......

Touch wood mine are holding up very well so far, been on for about 6 weeks. I do clean them all the time to remove any sand or dirt that gets stuck in the tread which could scratch them. Cheers

Re: Chrome Side Steps

I ordered the same Everest chrome 4" rounded steps from eBay as G6JET and SNUKE.
Looking at the installation guide he posted I feel overwhelmed. I can't believe how complicated it looks. I thought it was just a couple of bolts to the underside and that's it.

I've never put side steps on. Do you have to jack the car up to do it? And what is the driver's cabling duct I have to remove???

Thanks.

Re: Chrome Side Steps

Have a look at the video I posted - post# 110, it is a good guide. GUIDE!!!!!
The video uses all of the same bolts, you will have different ones.

Lay it all out, put the bolts, washers and nuts together.
No need to jack car up, just shimmy under.

The cable duct is easy, drivers side, 4 bolts to undo (10mm socket), it then hangs down.
I stuffed it by following the video only and didn't pay attention to correct bolts so had wrongs ones left over for next side. Basically set it all up 2.5 times.
Watch video a couple of times, read the instructions to get the bolts arranged correctly.
It is not really daunting, make sure you have the right tools/sockets.

As per one of my earlier posts, I got a shorter bolt to help where the cable ducting gets in the way closest to front of car.
See post # 113.
