Re: Chrome Side Steps

That strengthens my suspicion that Roger's stuff might be factory seconds. That's not to say it isn't good value it's just that one takes ones chances but hey, that's fleebay. Glenn just lucked out this time. Sorry mate!

Just got an email from Roger, retail for the retractable's for a WK2 will be around the $2k mark. Roger has a set currently for a Range Rover for $3,500!! Ouch!! . I reckon theres a market for them in the US, not the sort of thing you'd expect to see Outback but they look very "swish" all the same. Apparently they tuck away nicely so you don't lose clearance. It would be a hard call taking them off road, especially after hearing Bob's saga with the chrome Mopars. Heres a link to the Rangies steps, I have photos of the same on a WK2 but can't cut & paste from Ebay....sorry Fleabay

Good....no......great news, replacement steps arrived within 6 days. Installed within 30 mins. Bad news, the shaker's just fell off my jar of chilli powder and I've ruined dinner

Ha, mum's partner bought habanero instead of jalapeņo one time and not realising his mistake he used the whole lot in some dish. It was almost as bad as OC spray.

Now, photos of steps...

Nice. Still can't decide if I like WK2s better in black or white. Both so classy.

Guys, any special tricks to align the steps? The passenger side is perfect but the drivers side is too low at the back/too high at the front. Do you use shims or is there a method when tightening up the bolts? Cheers.

ECB will paint it white for a fee. I think there's one in white on their Facebook page.

I really like the white - I think it looks great with dark tints and the black trim, but I work in the construction industry and white cars are automatically tagged "company hack Hilux and you were not senior enough to get a colour choice". So it was Mineral Grey for me.

I might get white next time...

They're rock solid. Don't bee fooled, the brackets are heavy duty and they are well engineered. Hopefully our American cousins won't be reading this but these things are engineered to take someone who is "supersized"!
Hey Hey Hey! I saw that!!!
