CRD Hi-Flow Diesel Bowsers

Hello to all.

To those that already have their CRD's, are you able to refuel using the Hi-Flow bowsers or do you have to stick to the standard diesel bowsers?

Re: CRD Hi-Flow Diesel Bowsers

I can refuel my KJ Cherokee CRD with the high flow bowser - its a tight fit though and the bowser handle needs some orientation to avoid the flow from cutting out immediately.

I hope I can do the same with my GJC CRD that's on order

I like the diesel bowsers which still have the hands free pin in the handle - the petrol pumps had them still about 20 years ago but I think that all pumps had needed the pins removed under new regulations - probably safety I guess

Re: CRD Hi-Flow Diesel Bowsers

Reason I ask is that our local BP has both so that would give more options when the fuel station is busy at peak times.

Re: CRD Hi-Flow Diesel Bowsers

Depends there are two High flow pumps.
One designed for trucks only have a large outlet will not fit the jeeps.
The other most metro servos have will just fit if held at the correct angle.
I got caught a few years ago in Meekatharra only had super high flow diesel.
Had to use a funnel and fill very slowly made a big mess.
I Also certify fuel pumps!

Re: CRD Hi-Flow Diesel Bowsers

to fill a 93lt tank with a normal bowser seems fine to me. I'm used to fill a 180lt tank, I used to jam the cap in the bowser trigger and go off and clean windows or clear the crap the kids would accumulate in the back, with the jeep it takes no where near that time and I'm in / out of the servo in no time.

By the way the CRD is averaging 9.3 / 100 - which is exactly half what the V6 petrol Prado gave. Fantastic value!

Good thing diesel has anti foaming agents in it now.
Still foams a little.
