Who has the most k's on their diesel ? Wondering how long these new diesels will last. Old diesels were super heavy- built to last, but slow. The new light weight modern diesels are very fuel efficient and powerful, but do they last like the old ones ? Mine has only 4000km Cheers
We had 3 x 3.0 diesel Patrols, out of the 7 Patrols we've owned over the years since the first G60. Highest K's on any one was 180,000.
Absolutely no issues with the engine on any one.
All religiously serviced at 5K and they took us into every corner of this country and then some.
Our WK2 CRD is just 2 years old with 54K on the clock, 30K odd of that towing a van and has done a bit of work. It did pop a fuel rail sensor and was off the road for 3 weeks, but apart from some other niggly issues (that have been dealer sorted), it has been a delight.
I have to say I don't think our Jeep, good and all that is is would be a candidate for the Canning Stock Route or the Anne Beadell, or lots of other places the Patrols took us.
But its off to Broome with the van on the back via the Plenty Hwy and Alice in another few weeks.

These have been in Aus since early 2012 I think, so there will be a few with some decent distances on them already. Modern diesels are also built heavy, but like all modern vs old they are a lot more efficient, powerful and produce more torque.
Diesels just have the biggest difference in more recent years as they have had more R&D put into their non commercial uses.
I got a CRD from the first shipment and that was September 2011, car was built 30 June 2011.
When I ordered, I had to pay for a Hemi, but CRD was put in the system as a special note. They did not even have details on the CRD back then.
