Certainly a good buy and most likely you'll have no problems. However, be aware that Nulon is a relatively small Aussie company, 65 employees, so most likely it is an oil marketer rather than a manufacturer. For the JGC CRD, Nulon recommends their Full Synthetic 5W-30 Diesel Formula Long Life. Like most budget oils, it claims it meets certain specifications but it doesn't hold any actual auto manufacturer approvals like a few of the premium brands. To be certain you have the best oil, look for the words "approved to" Chrysler MS-11106 and/or MB 229.51.

Meets and approved are different, one is a claim, the other means tested and approved by.

MS11106 is the one to meet. It is similar to MB229.51 but adds tests for high temp deposits. Nylon claims their oil meets the requirements, but no actual approval.

MS-11106 spec has been changed as of 11 July 2016. New spec is 5W-40 synthetic engine oil such as MOPAR or Shell Rotella that meets FCA Material Standard MS-10902 and the API CJ-4 or ACEA E9/E7 or ACEA A3/B4 engine oil. All North American online e-manuals were updated to reflect the change. Unsure if the Oz version was updated. Dealers are clueless about the change.

Certainly. I pulled the information in my previous post directly from the online 2014 diesel supplement and did a cut and paste routine for the MS change. The following link will take you to the North American Diesel Supplemnt manual, then scroll down to page 77 or 90 of the manual to read about the spec.
http://www.jeep.com/download/pdf/man...oad-button.y=8

Also check out the Rotella T-6 thread on this forum, which is where the original information was shared this past week. Most dealers should be getting the TSB by now, if they haven't already.

Thanks for the link. Looking forward to confirmation from our guys down here in Oz. A bit disappointed that they want us to go from 5W-30 to 5W-40. That would slightly increase fuel consumption (theoretically).

Re: CRD oil on special

From past experience and numerous comments from members here and elsewhere, I don't think it will make a jot of difference to most dealers - who use oils that didn't comply with MS11106.
I've used Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 for 10 changes in our 2012 CRD, and our 2015 has already had its first drink and coming up for a second.
No issues for me, and most likely will continue to supply it to the dealer at service time. Those that have followed this thread from the beginning will know that I have little faith in Shell product labelling.

It is plausible to think that you will be fine in continued use of the MS-11106 spec/5W30 oil until you are directly told not to by FCA.

We have never had a diesel supplement manual, so no, and yes our dealers are clueless, as is FCA
