Creating playlist on Laredo RB2 Mygig

Aussie member Savvas posted this question way back in 2012 when these things were relatively new.
part extract - "Hi all,

My Laredo has a 430 RB2 head unit. I have 2 questions that I havent been able to find an answer for.

1. USB ports - I can only play music off a USB stick when it is connected to the port in the centre console, and not the port in the head unit. However, I can only import off the port on the head unit, and not the one in the centre console. Is this correct operation or is it something I should get looked at?

2. How can I create a playlist of music that has already been imported to the HDD? It allows me to create a playlist of an album, but that's a bit pointless as I can just play the album. I want to create a single playlist of tracks from different albums. Any ideas?

I noted the question then because I wanted to do the same.
After all this time i decided to have another go.
It is simple, and done at the time of import of the music files....
On a USB create a folder in the name of the new playlist and put all the music files in that folder.
Import from the USB as usual.
The software just treats the folder the same as an album name and will be included in your playlist menu.
Worked for me - (i use a Mac).
John

2. I have tried to setup a playlist and come to same conclusion as you. I find the interface to be awkward (the blue rectangular boxes), it makes me wonder if the interface was written by graduate software engineer??
