Dash Cams - Down Under

Da fuk!
No, never had to do that.
I can give you my config file if you want to load it and try. You just replace the config.ini file, which you should always back up when updating firmware.

Cool Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

Hello all

Newb from Sydney, 7 month old Diesel LTD GC

I have bought a Lukas 7950 (https://dashcamtalk.com/lukas-lk-7950-wd/) and am looking to connect direct to battery for parking mode. Anyone know anyone in Sydney who can do a nice clean install and not too exp?

Using the cig lighter sockets is not an option as they are needed for other permanent accessories (phone charger, gps logbook etc).

I have no idea how to connect things in a car or run cables and would rather just pay someone to do it, although I have been reading this thread and can see most of you have done a custom job.

Will also be looking around for other mods

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
BP

I have the 650 dual cam also and can confirm that when viewing live footage of what the camera sees with my Samsung S6 that after about 10 mins the wifi from the 650 turns off and i have to press the wifi button on the 650 to enable live viewing again.

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

Dont want it connected all the time it was just one less step to take. And i could download footage outside the vehicle ie. When its parked in my garage.

Very odd, mine is on 100% of the time.
Nicjak, did you load my config file and did it make any difference?

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

I read that 650 wifi is designed to time out as a heat reduction initiative.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

No, never had that. Two things, that was a 550, I have a 650. It was running custom firmware, not standard.
The Street Guardian does have very good results.
