Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

Absolutely - as long as you don't do that with the spark plug wires. I did once about 15 years ago while working on an engine; still can't count past 34 to this day.

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

For those of you prepared to consider the grey import ones, Dash Cams Online have the DR550GW for $389 and the DR500GW for $289.

These are Korean Product (re-branded as English).

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

I saw a youtube video of a recorded near miss accident using a Blackvue and I was amazed, never seen such clarity in any dashcam examples I've seen on the net.

Unfortunately, it does come at a hefty price..

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

So does insurance imaz. Noticed the amount of inattentive dicks on the road? If one hits you, you better hope someone bothers to witness it for you...

Thanks for the price links Snuke.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

Actually Snuke, would your manager mate consider extending us a great price for the 650 if we can hit enough numbers for a worthwhile "group buy" quantity?

I'll already put down for two!

Cheers,
Steve

I am currently tossing up between the Blackvue 650 and the new Vico-Marcus 5 - VicoVation

So would also go 2 of the 650's if a "group buy" was a option

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

I'll ask, I only got $50 off, but $50 is $50.

Snuke,

I'm interested in group buy too. Look forward to your feedbacks, in particular video quality from rear camera at night.

Only $50, and he's a mate?
Jokes, you will probably find that was his complete profit margin.

With the wiring, keep in mind the last recall notice of cables to the visors needing to be re routed due to fire risk....
Whilst it is and should be an easy job, give it to an expert if you dont have the confidence. I can recommend a good guy in winston hills, however its a mobile service and will come to you... http://www.broadwayinstallations.com.au
Ive used him a number of times, and even though im now in Qld, still buy through him.

I am currently using the Mini 0803 with GPS which is not to bad and a reasonable entry level price. However in saying that I just ordered the BV650 (should be here Monday) as I want a rear cam as well. Have attach a real sample video from my unit.

Yeh, that Blackvue is superb.

I might have to look at the budget cams though.
