SDXC, anything over 32GB becomes XC.
SD max = 4GB

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

For anyone having issues connecting with the Wifi on their Blackvue, I had the same problem.
The issue related to the phone connecting to my home wifi (or any connected wifi). I had to "forget" the home wifi, then re-pair it with the Blackvue. I also found Android much easier to work with than the Apple when it came to the software and the pairing.

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

I tried it away from the house, where there were no other Wi-Fi networks present, changed every Wi-Fi option on and off and different combos and nothing worked.
Both Android devices connected straight away no issue.
I did have a weird one with the Note 2, where it wouldn’t go to live view or playback recording due to a “weak connection”. This may have been phone related, as when I set it to restart to see if that fixed it, it never turned back on, and now at the service centre.

The Wi-Fi Live view is very helpful feature when setting the camera angle. I also found out that the button in the boot to lower the lift gate, does not work to raise it. I was in there adjusting the rear camera, FOB was up front, and I couldn’t get the damn door open. I had to call the misses to come outside and open it for me as I couldn’t be stuffed crawling over the seats.

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

Interesting about the internal boot switch Snuke. I've used the one on my last car several times. I haven't yet tried it on the new one.

I think having the key fob with you is the issue.

If I had read that part of the owner’s manual, I would have known this

"Pressing the LIFTGATE button located on left rear trim panel once will close the liftgate only, this button cannot be used to open the liftgate."

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

Not sure why, but it has not stopped recording. I just checked all the recordings and it went all night. The power plug got pulled when she got to work and the white light was still on after she got out. That should stay on for a bit. Plugged back in for the drive home, and it kept recording for another 3hrs until I got home and pulled the card.
I don't care about the recoding space, it only used 20GB of the 64GB available, I am concerned about the draw on the battery.

Still not happy with the picture. Dead centre, it's not great, off to the sides a little and it's crystal clear.
I think I have too much sky, I need to drop raise the horizon.

Edit: looking closer at the time codes, it is not all of the time, but a hell of a lot of it. Stopped recording at 11pm and then started again at midnight, then on and off all night. Must me the motion sensor picking up something moving.

I can see why it's not clear, the focus is on the dash. The dash reflection is annoying as hell.

Think I will have a go at the Nissan on the weekend first.
Would rather break that rather than something on the Jeep

Would a dash mat help with the reflection?

Re: Dash Cams - Down Under

You need to raise up the pitch of the camera, it is pointing too low. It will not reduce the FoV, but will stop the glare and reflection much more.

Snuke, same issue here with the recording. Got onto Rowan @ autoblackbox and he was very helpful. Have changed sensitivity settings and so far so good. Pic is of my current settings. Will know more in the morning when I pop the card out and recheck.
