Re: Distance to Empty

well so far ours is the only one that has maintained the display DTE all the way down (at least until it showed 10k).
What's happening there?
It's got to be a software thing surely?

And I understand your comment Enforcer about letting the wife know - mine was sitting beside me....she's still telling people about my blunder.

What touring range do you get with the Hemi?

Re: Distance to Empty

For a V8 that's pretty good. Yes, I have to say I'm looking forward to the economy of the CRD. It'll be a massive change from the old V6 Jackaroo, which only used to get 600-650km tops out of 85 litres.

Re: Distance to Empty

I thought I'd never be able to contribute to this thread until last night when my wife got home and said she was nearly out of fuel. DTE said 65kms filled it up this morning (until first cut out on pump) and put 83 litres in. DTE was more like 120ks.

Re: Distance to Empty

Have you seen the Top Gear episode where they did an economy race from Basel Switzerland to Blackpool in the UK?

Jeremy Clarkson was driving a Jaguar XJ and even though the DTE was displaying zero for quite a while before getting to Blackpool, they eventually found that it still had 120 miles worth of fuel left.

Or so says wikipedia ... therefore it must be true

Re: Distance to Empty

My older jeep's hand book says it is a 73lt tank and would get 85lt into regularly.
And I think it still had 100+km to go. Tried running it out once with a jerry can on hand, but out of town calls kept coming in, did not want to get stranded with a diesel that would not bleed.
The WK2 93lt of usable fuel the rest is not guaranteed ie: going up a steep hill on empty running out.

Re: Distance to Empty

To fill up my last car from empty would take anything from 68L to 75L. I put that down to shady servos's tampering with the fuel pump! Always an extra 7 or 8 litres to fill up at this particular servo. Same with my wifes car.

Re: Distance to Empty

Last week I received my final DTE warning at 54kms (odd number) then just a Low Fuel warning. Ran the gauntlet for a what I thought was for a few more kms.

I ended up filling the 93lt tank with 89lts. That's shaving it a little too close for comfort but hey, where would we be without pioneers!

Mongoose9400 is an unknown quantity at this point
I've ran my WK2 SRT 433 miles on one tank. I was watching the range and when it switched to low fuel I kept track of the last 30 miles or so it said. I fueled up 24.7 gallons. OM says 25 gal tank.

GDay Mongoose - a number of us here are driving the 3.0l diesel so we don't get to play with the big V8 - don't think I could afford to with our petrol price at $1.50 per litre which equates to around $5.68 per US gallon!! Diesel price is roughly similar depending on where you live.
Just looked at the EVIC on ours - 745km (462miles) round town so far on the tank and DTE is 205km (127miles), showing 8.9 average.
