I am sure that Castrol 5.30 oex is a premium grade oil but where on there specifications do they state that it is a synthetic oil and would you knowingly put a non synthetic oil in your $35+ Jeep motor? These type of oils may be all right for smoke bellowing Rice Burner type motors but the Jeep is Euro 5+(or at least the MY14 is)
If someone can point out to me that Castrol have made a misprint in there specifications i would appreciate that.
Castrol Australia - EDGE Professional Range
As a footnote i would like to mention that when i bought my Jeep in July i went down the oil path and one of my phone calls was to the state rep for Castrol. This was before anyone had DPF problems.
Nice guy and we talked a long time about oils and i expressed my concern at getting the right oil regardless of cost for my MY14 which i mentioned was Euro 5+ and CRD turbo with DPF.
The recommended oil was Castrol Edge Titanium.
I went down to the local auto shop and grabbed a container.
Guess what was on the label in big bold letters?
THIS OIL IS NOT SUITABLE FOR ENGINES WITH DPF.
"oils ain't oils' You tred your own path with oils.Do your research.
