Re: Draft email to dealership manager

On an unrelated note, anyone got any tips for getting the calcium off of the paint and glass on my bike and car? The water is terrible here, and when I wash them I'm just replacing the dust and bird droppings with calcium marks. It's not too bad on my silver Falcon, but it's gonna be terrible on my black GC.

It takes a minumum of 3 mths to get a car built and delivered. Most dealers here manage several different brands other than Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge, so their skill set is most wanting. Jeep Aust appear to be from a different planet and have no idea how to run a business. The dealers are left in the dark, and basically, becuase they are treated poorly by Jeep Australia, they treat their customers accordingly.
sorry, i didnt notice the Northern Territory location

I'll add "Aust." to my location. I thought the Aussie police cars in my sig might give it away too, but my sig isn't showing up all the time. Guess it depends on whether I reply or quick reply?

Re: Draft email to dealership manager

We run a bond store and regularly ship new cars from Australia worldwide and can make a better fist of Jeep's import process!

Once the ordeal of Jeep delivering the car to you is over, the new ordeal of accessing parts will kick in. Seems Jeep Aust suffers from "small vision syndrome", they seem to order parts by the "pallet load" opposed to a "container load".

If Jeep cannot supply something as basic as an oil filter during a service in Brisbane as a Brisbane dealership couldn't for my 10k service, you'll have buckley's in NT! That's just my gripe, you can read many other posts with more serious isuues with CJD Aust.

Great / fantastic car, extremely poor after sales service and part supply!

Hi studgun,

I cant say that I've had any experience with hardwater marks, but I have read a couple of strategies that may work.

Use a Quick Detailer spray to remove the spots, after you have finished washing and drying.

or, use distilled water for a final rinse before drying off.

One bizarre tip I read was to use fine steel wool. I'd love to see this person's car.

Carsales is exactly how I found some black Overland J.G.C WK2 CRD's to choose from. I too got the sad old story from my local dealers in the Newcastle area all too happy to take a deposit for a 4-6 month wait.

Most dealers I spoke to advertising at Carsales did not have the car but "had one on the way". Orange or Parkes somewhere out there had not 1 but 2 and one was set up with underbody armour, but white was not on the wifes' shopping list, had to be black. There was one up northern NSW well within budget and was that very nice dark metallic gray colour and we would have gone that way if our black one had not come up.

One of my replies through Carsales was from a Sydney dealer and gave us a fair trade in on my wifes' Hyundai Santa-Fe, no mucking about all done on computer and over the phone. Being a new dealer only opened for 3 weeks thay were allocated cars already on the ship being transported over.
We knew what we wanted and were prepared to have a good look around.
There was no compromise on price we got it a little cheaper too.

No 4 month wait for us.
From the time I started looking to the day of purchase was 6 days. Our black CRD Overland was delivered a few weeks after that. The dealer was in contact every few days and I cannot complain about the service from my dealer. If anyone wants the dealer details feel free to P.M. me.

As SvenskaJeepGuy says, dump em.

Thanks
John.

Ah, now that you mention it the detailing spray I have for my bike does do the job. Just need to find one a bit cheaper if I'm going to be using it on my car as well.

There was talk of a water softener for the station, so if that ends up happening I'll wash my car at work, but being a government organisation they like to save money wherever possible so it probably won't ever happen (even though it'd probably save them considerably in maintenance in the long run).

In any event, I'll pass on the steel wool I think.

Hasn't got saddle trim has it? If so it could be the one alocated to me early in the peice before I chaged the order to a white one. Exceptional to score a CRD Overland at such short notice.

No we got the black trim. They had a CRD with saddle already sold awaiting collection. We wanted the black trim anyway.
