Essential things to carry in your Jeep

I thought I would start a thread by telling people what essential gear I carry in our JGC. We are not offroaders and this is not a thread to discuss the best offroad gear, but more for gear that everyone should have.
The list of things I have in the boot of the Jeep:

- 10mm ring spanner: essential to remove the battery cable to reboot the car. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THIS

- Jumper leads with diod: quality jumper cables that have the diode to prevent blowing up the ECU when jumping another.

- First Aid Kit: We have a small multi purpose kit that we got from St Johns. Cost about $70, but has helped several times with minor bites and cuts. Hopefully never needed for a major incident, but it is there for that reason.

- Fire Extingusher: I have a 1.2kg one that fits well in the little bucket on the left in the boot. Only needed one once to put out another car. Make sure you keep it where you can grab it quickly.

- HiVis vest: Always handy if you need to work on the roadway or for the long loads on the roof.

- Small Toolkit: I just have a small Autopro kit that has some spanners, drivers, hammer and multi tool. Handy if you are after a tool.

- Snatch Strap: I have used this several times (not with the jeep) to move cars from bad spots on the road. Only used once offroad, when my car got bogged.

- Portable compressor: Very handy to blow up the kids flotation stuff at the beach and for the flat tyre you do not want to change.

- Knife: I always have a Leatherman tool in each of my cars as they have been needed on many occasions. Having a knife in the car is handy for many reasons.

- Maglite torch: I have a 4 x D Cell LED maglight. Handy for light and road rage incidents.

- Microfibre cloth: I have one handy to wipe the dust and clean the screen.

Best thing is it all fits around the spare, aside from the fire extingusher.
Anyone have anything to add ?

Re: Essential things to carry in your Jeep

Not necessarily in a jeep, but its always good to have -

First Aid kit
Water bottle or 2
Jumper Cables
Torch
Basic Tools of some sort
Knife - Be careful with this one, be ready to explain it if the cops ever see it, so keep it somewhere like under seat or whatever. Can be very handy.
Fire Extinguisher - Just a little 1L one or so
Spare fuses and bulbs
Blow up doll - You never know

what is that book lookin thing you have taking up space on that spair tire? lol

some flairs, a 3 cell mag light and jumper cables is all I currently have... I just got to stop like a week ago due to some moron with a flat on the drivers side of his vehicle, 3 feet from the curb on the side of the freeway litterally squatting with his body entirely in the lane... AT A MERGE so most of the people passing were watching over their shoulder to merge. What a douche... but flairs are fun so it was a win win... save a morons life AND play with fire. The police showed up like 5 minutes after I got there, I ran back to the jeep and placed the mag light in its clips then came back up to just verify all was good and I was asked "are you a witness"?
"huh? no."
"alright thanks" *with a GTFO look on his face*

great lists though guys... you make me want to run to the store be prepaired! ha ha
