Re: EVIC Tire pressure BAR to PSI change

Maybe it is US BAR not normal BAR like the rest of the world.
Jeez you think the world would just change everyone to Metric and English then we can all get on.

Re: EVIC Tire pressure BAR to PSI change

I think the yanks politicians should have stuck to their guns all those years ago and retainedmetric when they changed. People / voter power is great but when apathy or apprehension about something new like metric from imperial blocks progress, it's best to let the elected leaders lead.

Just imagine how different it would be if the good old USA were metric!

Re: EVIC Tire pressure BAR to PSI change

[QUOTE=AussieWK2;615527...When my car was delivered I had 3.2 in 3 tyres and 2.1 in the rear left.
Interestingly though, I've always set to 32-33 PSI. I know the placard suggests 36 PSI but I find that just too hard with the 20" rims.
Now with 32/33 PSI this shows 3.1 BAR on EVIC but.......I'm now looking at an online PSI/BAR conversion and according to it, 33 PSI converts to 2.28 BAR.

Anyone have a clue what's going on?[/QUOTE]

Bumped all mine up to 37psi and evic displays 2.4 all round.

I'd say it's time to invest in a $10-20 tyre pressure gauge to verify which one is right - petrol station or evic.

Re: EVIC Tire pressure BAR to PSI change

I figure I'll just set my tire pressure using an accurate gauge and once I know that is correct look at the BAR reading. Then I'll have the advantage of knowing that the BAR reading is the pressure that I set without doing the calcs.

If you originally set the tyre pressure when cold and then read the dash when the tyres are hot that could explain some of the difference as the tyre pressure increases Hot from Cold... but, 3.1 bar is 45 psi, temp will not account for over 10 psi! Typically you can expect to see an increase of 2-3 psi hot to cold.

No need to perform any calcs. If you want the EVIC to display PSI just change the EVIC setting from Metric to English and then back when done.

I'm quite sure this was originally in the Settings option, so it could only be changed when in Park mode but noticed more recently that it isn't in the Setting option and can be changed at anytime.

Re: EVIC Tire pressure BAR to PSI change

Just thought I would bump this and see if anyone has worked out a solution to show psi but leave everything else as metric in the MY14?

Once you get used to it, there is no problem.
Mine have been on 2.7 since delivery in July so they seem to be holding pressure well. I may add some air to bring them up a little soon.
