Agreed, flipper glass on the tailgate is great when towing the boat as there is not enough room to open the full tailgate without hitting the bow, but flipper glass is ok.

You must have a short drawbar - my tailgate still opens.

Just having the flipper open means the camera still works, but as I say I can still yell , I mean provide direction, to my son.

Hadn't thought to try that, navigating assistance through the flipper glass....

Tailgate just fowls the thing where the anchor drops down.

Gee, if it is that close can you unbolt the bow post and slide it back a few inches, so the boat sits a little further back on the trailer?

Re: First time towing

Might be possible to move the bow post back, however its only a 6.1m boat. Not really an issue having so close unless someone accidentally pushes the button to open the tailgate without thinking. Would not even like to think about that.....

Hi sorry I'm a little late on this post I just picked up my GC with tow pack few weeks back and today I was towing my 7.7 meter boat no issues pulling hardly felt it was there. Although when it got to around 90km -100km felt sway not a lot need to check tyre pressure next time. Also one thing I did notice reversing boat with a slight incline once I took foot off accelerator the car started to roll forward while still in reverse has anyone experienced this ..

Cheers

Re: First time towing

If you're on an incline sure. You can Hill Decent on to stop it, but I hate the way it effects throttle control so turn it off. I switch it to SNOW setting for reversing, stops the wheel spin we were getting.

Re: First time towing

Yes, I just turned it on then driving home with the horse float, but will turn it off to reverse the float into the shed as it has a negative effect on throttle control. Makes you rev about 500rpm higher before moving, then it can launch.
