Had my first tow with the GC today.

Performed great, really nice to tow with.
Reversing camera is very good, made life much easier, can reverse right up to tow ball no worries at all.
Not having a split tail gate in a pain is the bum. Only did local run today, no highway work yet. Cheers

You should get your car wrapped the same colour as the boat.
Maybe not.

They main thing I like about the reversing camera, first time every time over the ball.

My 2012 Laredo CRD definitely has it working.
Not an easy thing to check if you have it or if it works.
The times it has come up on me the road surface (from Cooma to Braidwood) has been really slippery when wet after being graded. Its not a road I travel at speed anyway.
As i mentioned before - I don't ever want to find it having to work on a hard surface at highway speed.

My 2011 CRD has it, I remember reading about it on the factory build sheet.
Apparently all AU spec models had the "Tow prep" option applied to them, which included the TSC.

All AU GCs have TSC, no matter what model. I know because I just looked into this, because I had my jeep towbar fitted and was wondering whether TSC came with default or needed to be added later.

It is very confusing because the Jeep.com.au website mentions TSC as part of the optional "tow group" 3 times. I showed the jeep service manager and he had NFI. After talking to some of the salespeople though, they said all AU jeeps definitely had it. It's just part of the ESC. The "tow group" mentioned actually only applies to the US.

The flipper glass in the MY12 is very handy at the boat ramp - much easier to yell at my son...

Agreed, flipper glass on the tailgate is great when towing the boat as there is not enough room to open the full tailgate without hitting the bow, but flipper glass is ok.

You must have a short drawbar - my tailgate still opens.

Just having the flipper open means the camera still works, but as I say I can still yell , I mean provide direction, to my son.

Gee, if it is that close can you unbolt the bow post and slide it back a few inches, so the boat sits a little further back on the trailer?

Might be possible to move the bow post back, however its only a 6.1m boat. Not really an issue having so close unless someone accidentally pushes the button to open the tailgate without thinking. Would not even like to think about that.....

Hi sorry I'm a little late on this post I just picked up my GC with tow pack few weeks back and today I was towing my 7.7 meter boat no issues pulling hardly felt it was there. Although when it got to around 90km -100km felt sway not a lot need to check tyre pressure next time. Also one thing I did notice reversing boat with a slight incline once I took foot off accelerator the car started to roll forward while still in reverse has anyone experienced this ..

Cheers

If you're on an incline sure. You can Hill Decent on to stop it, but I hate the way it effects throttle control so turn it off. I switch it to SNOW setting for reversing, stops the wheel spin we were getting.

Yes, I just turned it on then driving home with the horse float, but will turn it off to reverse the float into the shed as it has a negative effect on throttle control. Makes you rev about 500rpm higher before moving, then it can launch.
