Re: Front end alignment

I have a 3 months old Overland with the QL and has always pulled slightly to the left. Dealer did an align but made no difference.

Am happy to pay for a professional job. Is there a reputable place in Sydney that can do a 4 wheel align - preferably not too far west.

I recall reading somewhere that QL needs to be in Sport mode can anyone confirm this

Thanks

If you have QuadraLift there is a setting in the Suspension menu of your U-Connect for wheel alignment.

As far as the alignment itself, ask if they can align all four wheels, which in the industry may be referred to as a "thrust alignment".

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Front end alignment

Steve thanks for that

Could you be a bit more specific as to where the "..setting in the Suspension menu of your U-Connect...." is and/or how I access it. I thought the U-Connect is part of the radio system

Thanks

Yes, indeed it is! It also operates numerous other systems such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) as well as as programming channel for several vehicle subsystems.

Have you had a look through the top level menu of the U-connect? Towards the bottom, requiring a scroll down by pressing the down arrow on the lower right, you should see the "Suspension" sub-menu. And there is what you seek

Oh, unless I have missed your year build. It is a current Overland you have? The app I'm using makes it easy to miss stuff!

Cheers,
Steve

My top level Menu only shows System Setup and the if I go there System Information is displayed. I do not see any arrow on the right. The only time i see U-Connect is when I first turn the radio on/start up it then goes to radio. I am obviously missing something here. Is there a menu I can get into before it goes to the radio?

Thanks

Re: Front end alignment

Oh, sorry... if you're not familiar with the whole shebang... to get to the System Menu top level look for a soft button along the bottom of the screen marked "Settings". The icon is a cog.

Once you press that you'll be playing for hours...

I've got some time for being a helper if you want some assistance. Just send me a Private Message by clicking my screen name "Barboots" and I'll reply you my phone number.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Front end alignment

Sorry for the confusion Mel... the system changed dramatically mid 2013 upon the arrival of the MY14.

MY13 Suspension Setup menu assistance should arrive shortly.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi
Could anyone with QL please check if the Settings: Suspension menus allow enabling Tire jack and Alignment modes? My Laredo with ORA2 & QL has 1 menu item under Suspension, warnings. Manual says MUST disable QL for jacking and alignment. Dealer 'looking into it', despite just doing a wheel alignment!

UCONNECT 13.39.51 version dealer installed.

Getting a wheel alignment by a specialist Thursday so need to sort it.

The poster describing Suspension settings still to be sorted, are you commenting based on 'inside' info? Just trying to understand your comment. Thanks

Hey Silverhammer, I don't know if you're referring to me as "the poster". If so, my last comment in the thread meant that I expected someone with MY13 Quadralift knowledge would pipe up shortly and explain how to access the suspension menu on MY13s... if there is one there. It seems there's been no input, so I... errr... still dunno

I also don't know if Mel found his answer once it clicked we had different builds in front of us. We had a nice chat anyway

There's definitely a menu setting on mine for "jacking" and another for "alignment", but I can't remember if it is in the main U-Connect menu, or the somewhat hidden Engineering Menu. I'll have a look tomorrow if no one confirms beforehand, but I seem to recall thinking "as if the alignment guy will find it there!".

Cheers,
Steve

I assumed these details were in the manual as they were in for other cars I've owned, but not so, at least not that I could find. If anyone can find the wheel alignment specs it would be much appreciated by all. I guess this is another one of those Jeep "need to know" things to protect the dealers.
We have had our GC checked twice by Cricks in Noosaville. Car steers well and we are approaching 70,000 klm on the original tytrs.
