With 2 million hits on YouTube he's probably making some good coin from it.

And like all of us we've had issues but still love our Jeeps and wouldn't get rid of them.

How do you make money off of YouTube? Or in this fellow's case?

Anyway, I have mixed views about his decision. On one hand it's admirable that he's declining the money and trying to promote the introduction of lemon laws. On the other, he goes on about how bad the car is, yet he's willing to keep it.

Trouble is, unless he's actively pursuing his goal of lemon laws then this, like anything else, will die a natural death and it will have been for nought, I think.

You can select an option to Monetize with Ads in youtube, which then allows youtube to put ads on the video and they give you a percentage.

I think that since he says his goal is to get a full refund and Jeep has now offered a full refund, it sounds like he is just a whinger who wants to keep whinging.

The other problem is he is fixated on Jeep, this isn't a Jeep problem, most importers do the same thing, there is some guy complaining on WP at the moment that VW are selling cars with broken infotainment system that there is no fix for, they won't refund his purchase.

The problem isn't Jeep or VW, it is that there is no way to enforce the 2011 consumer protection laws. He can continue to fight for this without having to attack Jeep directly.

He is quite the drama queen, and also not quite up to date on the standard terms of grievance settlements.

Yep, he seems worried it will mean that he can be held liable for any comments others make. Surely it is limited to what he tells others to do.

I'd love to see the independent report on his car, FCA seem to be suggesting it is fine.

Yep, don't blame the guy for not wanting to sign that contract. It exposes his arse on so many levels.

A wise person never signs a contract where all his/her rights are removed and all liability is shifted onto them. Much like those silly waivers that dealers try to make you sign when you buy a car, that you forfeit your right to cooling off, or when you want to take a car for a test drive they insist on you signing another waiver that if you have a prang, regardless of fault, that you're liable for all costs. Stuff that for a joke!

Yep, the way I read it he (and his immediate family) just have to stop bagging FCA (publicly). Obviously he's not prepared to remove his YouTube piece...

Which I find a bit silly. He said the purpose of the clip is to get a refund. Now that he is offered a refund, he won't take it down. I don't think its unreasonable to expect him to take it down.... I don't think he can be held accountable for what his family or others might say, I think it would only be if his family or associates made comments on his behalf.

I'd like to see the independent report on the car....
