Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

The Trailhawk will have more lift. And for the first time ever you'll be able to get QDII with the 3.6L engine.

They are talking about more travel, so more articulation at the higher settings.

Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

Looks like Jeep and the other Chrysler / Fiat products have crashed to earth as far as sales are concerned.

Lack of supply, lack of new product across the brands and lack of customer service I suspect are jointly to blame.

January-March 2016 VFACTS: New vehicle sales, ups and downs of the first quarter

Certainly see quite a few Disco Sports getting around now. The Navy Blue is very nice...

The thieving buggers are recouping it in spare parts:
$3k for a side mirror for the WK2
$630 for the washer bottle
I priced a Remote Transmitter key for a customer on a 07 Cherokee/Liberty $541 my price & $R/R 598. That's supply only, no cutting & programming.
Price from the USA $119 USD.

I've done 25K in 18 months and love my Laredo, but when I see pricing like this it scares the hell out of me for down the Track parts.
Surely this is price gouging and can't the ACCC do something about it?

Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

I have a current case open with ACCC in regard to their so called Fixed Price Servicing where they have rewritten the schedules and not informed owners. Just had a call from ACCC who stated Jeep have asked for my contact details. Lets see what happens.

Seems to me there is just a lot more choice now with so many ute based wagons hitting the market. Still, none of them really compete well on power and features in the price range.

Bad press on reliability and ACCC investigations probably don't help.

Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

There is a lot of negative sentient about general jeep reliability that will be hard to change peoples perceptions about. Even harder now with the problems they have had and especially with a lot of the new cars from major manufacturers which have better names coming onto the market.

Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

Jeep are taking on the popular aussie ute domain. Yes, I know it is not a GC but it is interesting. Is this to offset lower GC sales ?

Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

Grand Cherokee sales total 2086 this year, down 37.5 per cent. This is over a 2015 figure that was itself down almost 20 per cent over 2014. Cherokee sales of 543 are also down 77.6 per cent over Jan-Mar 2015, and the Renegade with 276 sales so far this year has only gathered 1.1 per cent market share.
Wrangler sales of 331 are down 39 per cent, while the soon-to-be-replaced Compass (338, down 58.2 per cent) and Patriot (213, down 55.1 per cent) twins are also well down.
We spoke to the global head of Jeep, Mike Manley, in New York a few weeks ago with other Australian media, and he chalked up Jeep’s performance here to currency issues.
“I think we’ve got huge headwinds in terms of the currency [exchange],” he said.
