Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

Yeah, but compared to the competition, Prado/Everest they are still well priced. I guess there were a lot of softroader buyers who went for the Jeep as an onroad car, but now would go for a kluger, sorento, etc. Even the guy that bought the lemon went for a mazda3 after Jeep bought it back from him......

Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

Another thing I noticed is the huge glut of MY15s in car yards. I wonder if the lack of availability of MY16s is having an effect. People don't want to buy last years car.

Jeep is not alone..Honda is losing ground very fast..quality started dropping on 07... last 2 years have been an utter joke..engines..transmissions..body parts etc..
Anyway people are still clinging on the old reputation and getting burned...
Guess I'm just sayin..Jeep is not the only one with a bad rap.

Honda at least had a good reputation at one stage for reliability. Jeep...well, it's a Jeep thing.

Their prices wouldn't have changed as much though as the Yen has not varied as much.

Sure, but even after the price fluctuations, the Jeep is still good value. Prado GXL diesel is $62k plus onroads, the laredo diesel is $59k. Base model Everest undercuts a little, not sure on their inclusions.

Prado
GXL 7-seat auto $61,990
VX 7-seat auto $73,990
Kakadu 7-seat auto $84,490

Ford Everest - $54,990
Ford Everest Trend - $60,990
Ford Everest Titanium - $76,990

When we bought our Jeep (Limited diesel) we were tossing up between the Prado GXL, Pajero mid range model (forget its designator) and the Jeep.

Jeep won out on a few things, but its onroads came out to $62k. The Prado 3.0 model was on a runout and the dealer said that we could have it for $59k driveaway, I think it was. Pajero was cheaper at around $54k or thereabouts.

This was in October 2015.

Really? They have sold that many? 2nd to the Jeep Patriot, it has to be one of the ugliest cars on the road.

I watched it before but actually thought that it was pretty bad. That kid is a little spoilt brat and only after attention for himself.
Really sad
