Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Can anyone confirm that the fix is for air suspension ONLY?

The patch for the sand failure is NOT related to the air suspension. They are separate issues

The TSB for the air suspension is TSB 08-034-12, but you need to check if it applies to your build date.

I have a copy of the TSB 08-034-12 document - let me know if you want a copy.

I've just recently booked my GC in to get the software patch. The service manager reckons that even though the problem can occur with any wk2 GC he said that the patch is currently only available for vehicles with air suspension. Apparently Chrysler are working on the software patch for steel suspension models. I queried him about this several times and he was adamant that, yes, this is the patch that solves the serv 4wd error with no drive going to front axle. He reckons that the software for the quadra lift models is not compatible with the steel suspension models and that Chrysler are still developing the fix compatible with the steel suspension models and will have it available "soon".

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAILI'm

I've also taken mine to Albion. It's been there all week looking for issues and a resolution! Dealing with Brian and he seems to have no awareness of this issue!! I'll request he get onto Chris as this is all new information for me regarding the non air suspension. Guess I just need to wait for this new patch and miss out this holiday on Moreton.

Is there a workaround? Ie, are you safe in 4WD Low?

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

From what I can tell you are safe in 4lo.
Also I'm led to believe that the serv 4wd error is triggered by the ABS, so my theory is that even in 4hi you are also relatively safe as long as you use sand mode (disables ESC) and be gentle on the brakes.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

I am just curious. Is there a fuse for ABS that you guys can pull out so your Jeep's ABS is disabled? If ABS is causing the 4wd error, you may want to try driving w/out ABS on sand. I know the old cars used to have a fuse for ABS.
