Do you mean that the traction control light was coming on, or there was some other indication?

The error does still occur in 4 LO, but you retain drive to the front wheels and you can still drive out. There's a number of people on this thread that can vouch for that.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Hi Guys,

Spoke to Chullora Service Manager. I wasn't surprised to hear that he hasn't heard of the issue. No one has brought it up with him and he said to keep away from online forums!!! What a guy. I told him I am going to Stockton beach and don't want to be stuck. He said you won't.

What are my options at this stage. Do I get stuck, take photos and go running to him or do I contact Chrysler Australia at this stage.

Also I was surprised to find out that I am being charged for the 1K Service. I thought this was free I am sure. Can someone please confirm or deny this.

I was advised that the first 1K service was only free if it was done at the place of purchase.

Regarding the 4wd issue, I'd be inclined to call Jeep Australia and have your vin checked to see if the issue relates to your vehicle. Being new it may have the software update already. My dealer was able to look up my car and advise that issue was listed against my VIN number.

Heres a contact if you need it shona.ruse@chrysler.com.au

I hope this helps.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Unfortunately the dealers/service centres have no idea.
I was also told that there was nothing wrong with my GC (by the largest dealer in Qld). Only after going through Chrysler HQ did I get the fix - absolutely take this issue up directly with Chrysler, as I and others in this and similar threads have said, it is the *only* way of a guaranteed full story. Since there is no official TSB for the issue, the dealers are somewhat excused for their ignorance I guess.

I never paid for my 1k service...

Getting mine assessed for the module fix next Wednesday after going through CJD, they had already sent some info to my dealer before I contacted them.

Did not pay for the 1k.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

She's who organised the fix for me too.
It should be @chrysler.com

Just spoke to Tracy at Chrysler HQ. She is getting in touch with the dealer as I write this to make the service manager aware of this issue. Tomorrow they will check if my car is impacted or not. So those of you who use Heartland Chullora please note that the service manager is now aware of the issue.

The HQ was little help with explaining why the dealer is charging me for the 1k service. I am advised to contact the dealer myself to explain to him that others are not charging for the 1k service. Will call him in an hour.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Good luck with Heartland... I had nothing but dramas with Heartland Holden and found their attitude to be appalling. The only good guy there left and went to Barry Smith Holden.

I did not pay for the first service at Central Coast Jeep.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Quick Update. My car was tested for the issue and it appears it doesn't have the problem. Quote from my service manager,

"I have not received a phone call but I did receive an email from Tracey this morning outlining the procedures for your tech case.
I have passed this info onto my foreman and he has taken care of everything for you. We have run a DTC scan and have found no error codes relating to this issue
Nor have we had any warning lights appear on the dash. We will update this info onto Chrysler and see where we go with this."
