Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

CJD are only interested in hushing the matter, and have no intention of addressing owners concerns.
Once a permanent fix is released, you can bet that it will be quietly released as part of a regular service. There will be no letters to owners warning them of the potential risk.

That's very true. All those cars that never venture onto sand, do not have this problem. Funny that!

Yes, I did point that out and received no real response.... i.e. probably most have the issue, it is only a few of us know it/venture onto sand.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

So, because I know about this issue, I won't risk taking the vehicle, let alone the family, out on the sand.

Hardly fit for purpose, is it?

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Slightly off topic, but I believe the point is relevent. There are currently 2 Nav TSB's, released in Nov & Dec last year. HQ Melb told me that they are not distributing these updates to dealers, unless there is an enquiry. For example, because I have been complaining about the Nav routing, they sent a disk to my dealer to update my system. Considering it was an older update than what I already had is irrelevent. The point is, that they do not appear to have any structured release process here in Australia for TSB's. When asked the question of why dont they release TSB's to all dealers when they are released, the response was, HQ havent told us to do that.

Thanks for reminding me, I need this update too. Relying on the nav through country NSW was a joke. Used the iPhone instead.

Is there any particular TSB I should ask for?

Maybe we all need to complain regarding the holding back (pun intended) of their TSB's. It really is a joke that they are not being proactive.

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

The recent TSB for NAV are
TSB:08-053-12 dtd 15nov12 Flash:RHR,RHW,or RHP Radio Software Enhancements (2.126)

If you take a look at SOX's site, he also has a newer version of 2.136

The current updates unfortunately haven't fixed the routing issues.

Have you lodged the problem with Chrysler Help Line? If not I encourage everyone to do that. The more people who lodge a complaint may help to escalate the issue.

PH Tracey on 1300 133 079 and ask for a case number.

I will have to do that, the dealer basically didn't have or know anything beyond 2.126.

I apparently have the interim sand module installed now though! Now to try it out without getting potentially (though unlikely) stranded...

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Hi Forum Members,

Quick question. I am about to finalize my purchase of a MY13 CRD CG Limited. I have many other options available to me for that money and require a vehicle that can handle trips to Fraser and Moreton.

I still have time to pull the pin on my Jeep, and i know the '14 is coming soon - what would your advice be?

It sounds like Jeep don't give a flying continental about customers once the rubber hits the road.
