Jeep Customer Care!
TSB 21-003-13 Drive Train Controller update done.

Now I can look forward to getting out there and having a real go.

Can anyone suggest the closest bit of sand near Sydney that I can give it a quick test? And don't say Bondi.

I asked my dealer to install tsb 21-003-13 on our 2011 Laredo CRD steel spring (handed them a printed copy) they said they inputted our vin and it did not show it needed the update (has never been done) I told them it had better not, if I ever get stuck because of sand fail they will be paying all recovery costs, and if we lose the GC they will be paying for a new one
Has any one with a 2011 Laredo CRD with QT11 had this up date done?

Hi yoda,
Other than waiting to get stuck in sand again is it possible to tell if this or other TSB updates have been done?

Other than waiting to get stuck the only way is to get your dealer to print out copies of the RO repair order that they use every time a vehicle comes in, it lists all work to be done, parts used, time taken, tech that did the work, software updates etc.
if you use the same dealer all or most of the time ask them to print you a complete service history of your vehicle then you can see exactly what has been done

You don't need to use the same dealer - the info is held centrally in the jeep au database. Any dealer has access.

Having just been through something very similar in a 2013 - I did end up on the sand with the SERV 4WD appearing.

Dealer insisted they did input the VIN and it did not show up. Contacted Cust Care not much response. According to head office it appeared under VIN.

Too cut a long story short, went back to dealer who assured me the TSB did not show up and continued not showing up under VIN. But head office confirmed the update was required and hence it was installed. Haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Details of TSB were loaded on screen and it clearly outlined 2011-2013 models.

From my understanding it is only specifically applied on demand/request or if the SERV 4WD error has occurred.

Seems like a mad way to do it.

My dealer per scan vehicles before service and said to me there is no such a sand fix and there are no recalls for my vehicle. I pulled out the tab and demanded that I am walking away to another dealer for service. Then only dealer applied the tsb.

This is my problem I did directly ask for the tsb to be applied I even handed them a copy of the tsb I said I know I need to ask for this tsb as its not done otherwise and they still said your vin doesn't show you need it so they didn't apply it
I guess I'll just have to contact jeep customer care and see what they say

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

I was going to say "go to another dealer".... but in your location, might take a few hours to get there.
