I agree and add - they'll also make money when people discover the problem out of warranty and they charge the customer for a problem the car was built with.

But...they'll pay a hefty price if someone's loses their car or worse, because the 4wd Don't Hold Back vehicle switched to 2wd and they had specifically taken it in like Yoda, me and others.

I had exactly the same answer from my dealer Yoda.

GMWK2 gave me a contact in Jeep - Details below. A combination of an email to Shona and a shirty call to the service manager resulted in the fix being applied.

Just put my dealer on notice, the last straw to day while packing for a weekend camping, the rear power socket was dead, checked the fuse, all good, after checking socket with multi meter, dead, pop the trim and find socket unplugged, this explains the scratch on the inside of the rear passengers side window and the black sticky stuff on the right (goo under the rear hatch seal), the Fing 2 year old they had work on my GC last (had rear shocks replaced again) thought the rear shock mount was behind the trim, this F wit also put holes in 2 wheel nut chrome covers and drove the GC with the rear inner felt down and wore a hole in it, this is on top of in the last 2 years, damaged rear hatch trim installing the reverse camera, damaged the trim while replacing it (I had to install the 3rd lot in front of the service manager because they could not figure out how with our damage), at the 10,000km service they had no oil filters in stock, they left the rear suspension cradle bolts loose after replacing rear diff mount (found this out after 300km towing camper for a weekend away), they crossed over the fuel return lines after replacing the intake manifold( return lines are plastic so would of rubbed throw each other some time down the track ) then this last sh$t this is the last straw, they have until Monday to come up with a reason why I don't sent letters to Jeep AU, MTAA, ACCC and every news paper, motoring mag and caravan mag in OZ, if your ever in Darwin stay well away from Kerry's Automotive, they literally will put your life at risk with their dodgy work

Those guys do not deserve to be in business. They are giving Jeep and every Jeep dealer a bad name. I'm thinking the 1,400km trip to Alice may well be worth it. Make a holiday of it. I have a friend who used to drive his Porsche from Sydney to Melbourne just to get it serviced by someone he trusted.

Yoda, you are not alone in having issues with Kerrys with your Jeep, check a few local Nissan owners as well.
This business has had a woeful reputation for years - from personal experience with a previous Patrol their technicians are hopeless, and careless.
I had a dialogue a few years ago with the service manager and dealer principal (at that time, and things haven't improved), over poor workmanship and attitude starting from the front desk and through to the workshop staff, but as I think this was a daily occurrence I had the impression they were immune. It was like water off a ducks back.
As you well know - there is no real alternative for you until you hit Adelaide or Cairns. Alice will be a lucky dip.
Becoming too well known to your dealer in a less than positive way may not improve your situation.
it'll certainly test out your skills in diplomacy.

I can vouch for that. I heard they put a "C" against your name....whatever that stands for??......and the service cost goes up $100 as a great incentive to take your business elsewhere.
