Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

If it works I would have thought it would have been a good PR stunt for Jeep to do.....

Go for it! Do one front then one rear. I've had my MY12 balanced on two diagonally opposite wheels and drove on, not unlike in this video . Quite amasing and it does this with a simple open front diff. I like the comment, "Let this vehicle do its job!"

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

I saw a few utubes some time ago of GCs going through test courses where they have conveyor belt like rollers in certain positions to allow wheels to slip and demonstrate the system. Can't remember how many wheels were slipping at one time though... Must try and find them again - it was pretty good to see...

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

Does anyone have a copy of the article from the November 2012 edition of 4x4 Aust magazine where CJD acknowledged this issue?
My dealer is saying that CJD did not have a fix for the sand issue in November 2012 and that is why it was not applied.

Here's a link to the official TSB - dated 27 April 2013

I sincerely hope the problems you had on Fraser a little while ago were not because they did not apply this fix to your Jeep?

Checked - the temporary fix was applied to my car on 12/9/12. See my post further back in this tread of same date.

I understand mine was the first to be done.

Here you go - from November 12 4x4 Australia. This issue would have come out early October, so printers mid September, so Ms Fletcher would have provided the response maybe early September. This aligns with when I had the temporary fix applied to my car.

No, this relates to being stranded at Double Is Point back in March. The dealer claims Jeep did not have any fix in November 2012, I knew they did around that time...

Let us know how you get on. And give the dealer a slap for me for not knowing his product!
