Gee, thats a bit exy for a petrol. What do they want for the steel spring one at Albion? If its like $5k difference I'd be going the steel spring.

Yes the air lift is good to have, but not absolutely necessary.

Re: Grand Ltd Vs. KL Trailhawk

OK the dealer has just come back with a Billet GC Ltd (no QL) that they have in stock. I can get that for about $6,000 less than the GC in WA with the QL (too many acronyms..?!).

That of course takes in $3250 - QL / $2000 - freight / $700 - lux pack.

Maybe if I can get the same car without QL for $6 grand less then it's more likely I can live without QL!

I'll try to find some pics of the aftermarket 2" lift that a lot of you guys have. If there's not too much impact on city driving (95%) and cornering, then I might consider this option.

Re: Grand Ltd Vs. KL Trailhawk

Yeah, I couldn't justify it for $5k-$6k difference. The lift is worth it if you are doing a lot of offroading. But just a couple times a year to the beach, and the one off trip to fraser, I wouldn't bother. Invest in some maxtrax instead..... and something to replace the front airdam.

Re: Grand Ltd Vs. KL Trailhawk

Good call, I'm still waiting on the Chief replacement to that front air dam. Hopefully it can't be too far away!~

I'll defo get that Chief sump plate as the first thing before it goes anywhere off road.

Benno do you know if the air dam replacement they are designing replaces the need for the sump plate they already produce?

Would be good to only purchase the one item if it does it all.

There are 2 different products Chief are doing for this. One is the 'lower front guard' which should be close to release:

This one should sit under the existing lower fascia/airdam, so you can remove the plastic and go. The other is the airdam replacement which we haven't seen yet, but should be out later this year.

Neither will replace the sump plate, you will need that in any case.

Re: Grand Ltd Vs. KL Trailhawk

You lose the space under the passenger seat with the QL.

The freight from Perth is a tough one - Perth to Melbourne should be cheap on a backload but I suspect there would be no discount on the leg to Qld.

Funny you should say - we've actually discussed this option

Just concerned there's not a lot to see between Perth & Brisbane.....esp after a recent road trip across NZ

Re: Grand Ltd Vs. KL Trailhawk

So if I can score a 2015 GC Ltd petrol (no QL) for under $57k WITH a mopar tow bar. Yoû think that's not a bad deal? Particularly given the AUD taking a nose dive of late...

At least it leaves some pennies left over for some Chief addons for the beach. That lower front air dam is just asking to shovel some sand. I'll be keeping a close eye on the Chief product launch to address that issue (as per Benno's post above).

Re: Grand Ltd Vs. KL Trailhawk

Damn that looks good !!

Those rims are sensational I was pricing up some Local businesses who can spray your rims black. There might even be a few threads in the garage about the same thing from memory.

But have to agree the lift looks pretty mean. Thanks for the great pic Hutch.

I can get wheels powder coated for about 60 dollars a wheel, helps if they are also brand new with no real road grime on them.
