Lots of messing around........add whatever circumstances.........
You will then be told to replace the sensor, the fuel rail has to be replaced and there are none in Australia (unless they bought in extra with mine). Your vehicle will then be parked with the dealer for some indeterminate period.
My recommendation - Leave the engine alone for the time being and enjoy what you've got - it's plenty!!
After our recent experience with Jeep Assist, RACQ, Chrysler Jeep Aus, and a mid NSW dealer, a little present from Germany is definitely NOT on my list at the moment.
I second John's sentiments. Once they get the CRD in the States, a Pandora's box of goodies will become available and off-road rev heads a plenty to test them for us.

Re: Harmonic noise coming from engine...

Just wanted to thank everyone for the information in this topic!
I have a Jeep GC 2012 WK2 Overland that was experience the loud vibration/trumpeting sound.
After showing my Jeep service department this forum and after 3 visits to the service department to let them try and replicate the issue they finally agreed to replace the TX valve and evaporator.

IT WORKED!!!!

Now to fix the suspension that randomly lowers itself after the engine is switched off...Jeep tell me its the first time they have seen this issue. I wonder whether it has got to do with the shocks being replaced 3 times without ever going off road?

Anyway, thanks everyone!!!

Congratulations on the A/C fix. However, your suspension issue has me worried. It sounds like you have Quadra-lift but it is the first I've heard of problems with the shocks on Quadra-lift. Could you please elaborate? Maybe you should put this on the WK2 suspension section.

Re: Harmonic noise coming from engine...

Mine is in to have the evaporater and compressor changed. Parts took 3 weeks to arrive. Man it is one sight to see the dash being gutted on the 13, 000km car (moan and groan started at 2000km, in and out of service for diagnosis 4 times). Will take a few days.

Have a Dodge journey as a loaner.

I insisted having the compressor changed prior to the evaporator to save the dash coming out. Thankfully, the compressor alone fixed the problem. Dash out would have made me ill.

Yes, I'm sure I have little hope in that the dash would feel the same. "something" will be missing or broken.

I put the JGC in for its 20K service with the front right HID bulb and A/C evaporator to be replaced. HID got done but evaporator won't arrive until the 28th of June (even though the quote paperwork when I dropped it off said that there were 2 in stock).

Can't say I'm too impressed with these issues for a $60K vehicle that is less than a year old.

Waiting at dealers now while waiting for the wheel alignments to get done. Should see how the dash is after being guttered over the past few days shortly .. hoping this will be the last visit for warranty work.

My evaporater came from the US, took 3 weeks. And the compressor came from over East of Aust.

Hi All

My car is booked in to have the evaporator and txv valve replace. Has anyone had issues with dash rattles etc after the dash had been ripped out? Very concerned about this, as cabin rattles drive me mad!

Cheers
Chris

Re: Harmonic noise coming from engine...

Got the car back today after a few days in the shop. Hope the noise is gone, too early to tell. Not sure if it's a placebo effect, but I think it idles more smoother now. Dash is in tact and appear to be visibly well put together. Cup holder led lamp and transmission illum did not work, but I checked it out and the illum wire were looping back to itself rather than to the led lamps itself. I had the compressor, evaporator and the active head rest replaced under warranty, with a brand new dodge journey as a loaner included. So far extremely happy with the service the guys at Maddington Jeep Service center handled my case and the patience they had to put up with. Most importantly what helped the most was also a printed out of this forums..

So far no rattles.. Not that I could tell on the long drive home anyway. It is a well built car and from what I've noticed with past Chrysler cars, everything fitter is precised and tightly fitted, even down to foam behind kickboards etc... So it is well built. Jeep is like that when I took apart the center console tonight to look at the cup holder lighting. However, your service dealer does not equate to the same guy who worked on my car. Good luck.
