Hi Mate,
Mines only now and again after the Freezetec guys played around with it, but it is still there. My main concern is now reduced compressor life with the glugging CaptainJunket refers to. Concensus of opinion questions why the noise only occurs when stationary now the refridg level is correct (relying on condensor fan) and not when travelling when the condensor is cooled by incoming flow of air. They reckon I should get Jeep to look at the condensor side of things, maybe some thermal sensors. They reckon the fan sounds like it might not run on long enough to dissipate sufficient heat after pressurising at the compressor.(Pipe returning back to the inside of the caris pretty warm). Can you do me a favour next chance. After a good spririted run, can you set your AC to 23 degrees when you pull to a stop, give it a minute or so and see if you get the noise. Also can you let me know how long your fan runs for when it cycles as the AC compressor stops. For comparison at 23 degs outside and 23 degs inside, I get 7 seconds compressor then it stops, then the fan revs about 5 seconds. Wait about 7 seconds with nothing happening then the compressor starts 7 secs, then fan etc...and so on. My noise is also infrequent now, but when it happens, its still very loud. (PS the pipe return back to the compressor is VERY cold)

Hi Glenn, could be the pressure switch that contols the condenser fan may be turning the fan off to early. thus still feeding to much refrigerant thru the TX valve and evaporator. if you take back to the dealer see if the can run two JGC side by side with all the gauges and heart monitors and see what the differance is. you could ask at what pressure the condenser fan cuts in and out at but I doubt anyone in Australia will know!

Freezetec 99% certain it's condensor related and to check out the HP switch as well as any slight kinks/dings on the pressure lines. They insist this is the place to start rather than a replacement TXV/evaporator, the shaking/vibrating pipes related to a huge spike in the actual high pressure above the designed high pressure. (thought the guages might have picked this up?)
PS, 22" wheels? Any chance of posting a clearer picture? Note you've got the mopar pedals coming. They look awesome installed especially now I've got aqua ambient lighting in the footwells. Fitting the brake pedal is as easy as using a hairdryer, mirror and a short wide blade scewdriver, but be careful not to break the hooks on the accelerator pedal. The plastic is quite brittle and with the real tight fit of the new pedal over the old pedal, good chance you will be siliconing yours on as I have done with mine. Looks awesome all the same and the car is now slightly quicker off the line!!

Hi Glenn, I having thought about the condenser/radiator electric fan I think it might be variable speed rather than straight on/off. I remember when I first got mine setting up the EVIC and ideling in the driveway the fan kicked in then proceded to ramp up in speed????? I noted that the temp engine gauge was nearly half way then as the engine temp went down so did the RMP of the fan. So if this is the case may be the VSD contol for the fan is not set correctly??? VSD= variable speed controller.

p.s there are better pictures of the 22s under members rides-showoff.
under the post MY TRUE BLUE. and your right snapped off clips on the gas pedal now siliconed on

Cheers for that. Yep a VSD is going to need a program mod, but what do you think about replacing the HP switch?

May be that the HP switch is a saftey cut out for the comperssor only,
and cuts out say 2500Kpa. And the VSD is to moulate the fan speed say between 1000Kpa and 1600Kpa. if the VSD is programable getting someone to do this will be a feat.

...but as a train of thought, would you agree that the noise occuring ONLY when the condensor is cooled via fan (ONLY when stopped and quiet as a mouse when driving when moving air is cooling the condensor) should put the focus on this area and not the TXV? Could it be possible lack of cooling at the condensor causing pressure too high going to the TXV? I should possibly rephrase "noise", as the noise is really a bi-product of the vibration and the vibration could be a bi-product of exessive pressure on the HP line. What do you think?

Re: Harmonic noise coming from engine...

Yes totaly agree, the VSD that controls the fan speed is set too high or out of calibration. as you can see as you move air thru the condenser with the car moving you dont seem to get the HP noise and vibation.

Hi guys
Had it back to the dealer again for further diagnosis as the noise didn't go away. They said the gauge spikes in pressure when the txv opens. He belivies that the txv is the fault and they are on the right track.

Hi, sure as the TXV opens it puts more load into the compressor then the refrigerant is then passed to the condenser were it condenses the refrigerant back to liquid. But then dischage pressure must be with in design parametes, if this is exceded to much refrigerant is passed into the evaporator via the TXV. They have to make sure this dischage pressure is not excessive. Once they have confimed correct weight of refrigerant in system not contaminated, condenser/radiator electric fan running at the correct speed to maintain constant dischage pressure. Remember the TXV is supposed to open and close as the load in the cabin varies. it is easier to check all these other external components before PULLING the dash out.
