Hi all.
Some time ago I posted about the strange behaviour of my Summit climate control. The system refuses to retain a set temperature above 21 degrees C. Each time the vehicle is restarted any temp selected above 21 will drop by one degree until it reaches 21.
Originally I thought this problem was unique to my car but during the last four weeks I have had the use of two "loaners", a Limited and a Laredo. Both of these cars were unable to retain a set temp above 21 either.
I have written an email to Jeep Customer Service asking them if this was normal and if so what is the logic of the system operating this way. As yet, of course, I have not received a reply.
Before I make any further attempt to contact Jeep I was wondering whether I could ask my fellow MY14 owners, both here and overseas, to do a simple test on their climate control systems and report back via this thread.
1. Set either/both zone temp to 23 degrees Celsius (or 74 F). Auto or manual mode does not seem to matter.
2. Turn the car off for about 10 minutes. You'll know you've left it long enough if the selected and outside temps initially show "dashes" instead of numbers when you restart.
3. See whether your selected temps have remained at 23/74 or dropped by one degree.
4. Report the result back on this thread along with your build date.
Note: If yours does NOT retain your temp you might like to try again with a temp BELOW 21/74 and see the result.
I am hoping that if I can report to Jeep with data from a number of vehicles that they may just take me seriously.
Thanks in advance.
