I too am fastidious about cleaning. Without fail, the GC goes through a car wash before every christening, wedding or funeral.

Re: How often do you clean your ride

I was much more on top of keeping my Black 2014 GC Limited sparkling before the weather got crappy here in Buffalo. I have the unlimited Delta Sonic wash, so I usually run through 1-2x per week to have the salt washed off, and if it's wet out I don't bother getting it dried and just wipe off the mirrors and back window at my next stop.

But it's still 1-2x per week when it's nice out, and a stop down the street from Delta to wipe off the side panel streaks from the mirrors and the back window, plus a tire shine spray down. Vacuum once over a couple times per week as well, and I like to keep the dash nice and shiny.

Re: How often do you clean your ride

I spent about 2hrs watching YouTube videos on the weekend (didn’t wash the car) about washing after wanting to see a bit more about Zaino's, which is highly regarded.
I was nearly going to buy the full mega kit so there is a bunch of stuff I have that in reality I will probably never use.
I watched a 20min video of some guy that spent 24hrs over 3 days with Zainos doing his BMW M5, he does this once every 3-6months.
Then I got onto Ammo NYC, who is a complete nutter on cleaning cars, with some great products.
Lots of comments from users saying they have switched form Zainos.

I washed mine yesterday morning with AmorAll something something I got at the super market.
Even without doing anything special it still took me nearly an hour.

I think I will get a Zaino kit, spend one day doing crazy prep and clean, which will make it much easier and quicker to do a good clean as a normal thing.

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Anyone have paint protection on their Jeep? Make washing easier?

I'm planning to get the ceramic Opti Coat, anecdotes say that washing can be as simple (run the hose over it to make it look factory new) or hard as you want if it's maintained.

I was thinking of trying out some speed holes to make the car faster.
Can I try on yours first?

There are 100+ different products that make some very bold claims. I have tried several of these long term polishes, and while most did a good job, I found a better result from 6 monthly polishes with a normal wax like NXT.

I am sure that some rare Brazilian Canuba wax from Amazon singing bees is great, I would not notice the difference and I will still need to wash my car regularly. I would also save a heap of cash.

Just stick with good brands that you most likely have in the garage and spend a bit of time polishing every 4-6 months, the results will be the same or better.

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Right now I have Zaino sealant on my jeep and use Z7 wash and Z6 QD but I'm switching to Optimum, already bought the coatings Opti-Coat 2.0 and Opti-Glass with other products to prep the paint (ONR, OPC, Opti-Eraser, Finish Polish & IPA)..
Reviews everywhere confirm Opti-Coat to be the best choice for coating in terms of durability, longevity, ease of use & price..
Once coating is applied and cured, I have some Wolfgang wax, Pinnacle spray wax and OCW to use on top of the coating to get the desired look and slick feel..
also washing the jeep should be easier and faster after coating and I'll try other wash methods (Rinseless & Waterless)
