How often do you clean your ride

Is black really harder to keep clean. I enjoy cleaning mine, but I find it's pretty dirty within a couple of days. I usually just detail spray and wipe, most days only takes ten minutes. But my neighbours are starting to look at me funny because I am always cleaning it. So what's your colour and how often are you cleaning? My JEEP is under car port but only has shade cloth on the roof. So it gets wet when it rains and dusty when it's windy. Cheers

Re: How often do you clean your ride

No colour is more or less harder to keep clean, it is just what colour allows dirt to have the best contrast to stand out. Black is the worst, Silver is the best at not showing dirt.

Ours (Granite Crystal) is also under a carport only, but stays dry in the wet. Doesn't stop dust from accumulating and becoming muddy when rain hits on the road.

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Hi, mine is Deep Cherry Red and gets cleaned pretty much everyday unless it's snowing or freezing, yes I have a bit of a problem, the neighbours think I'm nuts and my wife thinks I need help but it makes me happy.

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Clean?
Are you supposed to wash them? I better refer to that handbook again.
I thought that is why I was paying huge amounts of cash during servicing.

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Deep Cherry Red is not too bad on showing up dirt (mine lives in a garage). However on the SRT's the front Brembo brake pads are shocking in terms of brake dust, which ends up all down the side of the car, not just on the front wheels. So for me its a fortnightly was or after any rain has cleared.

I guess the SRT's have a lot softer brake material for better braking, as I don't get any brake dust. Wheels are the only thing that stay clean.

Our DCR is a dust and dirt magnet. I wash her every 2 days **sigh** but that is due in part to our driveway.

I get down to the first gate to stop and open it but sit in the vehicle for about 30 secs while I watch the dust cloud from behind gradually envelope me and then settle before I hop out to open the gate. Should do something about putting bitumen down but it's not high on the priority list of things to do.

I washed both it and '07 WK today (which is silver) and I was really surprised at the amount of dirt that came off WK. It was really thick especially on the bonnet but I really hadn't noticed and they are parked side by side and I view them together each day.

Ours is only 150m long, and at least stony gravel as opposed to the 200m of dirt I was recently at.
But yes, dusty quickly

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Mines also 150m gravel. Didn't cause this though! Took me all of yesterday to clean. The chrome brow on the tailgate had a huge amount of dust trapped behind it, but the cabin seals did a great job keeping us dust free. Mine usually gets a good quality wash weekly, polished every three months with a full valet. The leather is treated with a good quality conditioner at the same time containing crushed minks....not sure how many minks are squeezed to make up the 500ml of mink oil? (or is the plural "minkies?")

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Glad I'm not the only one with the disorder. Am staring to think that using detailing spray every day or two rather than just washing once a week may not be such a good idea as it seems to leave a residue which attracts dirt. Cheers

Re: How often do you clean your ride

Every 3-4 weeks, usually the day before it rains
