HVAC granularity not consistent

I've got complaints from the passenger seat re the temp settings and it appears quite legitimate. When we change from 22-23 degrees, it goes from blowing cooled air to blowing warm air in manual mode. I asked a friend who has a MY14 SRT and his is the same.

I would have thought in manual mode that the temp setting would work like the old rotary/slide style temp controller.

Anyone else have this issue? i'd imagine it's a programming problem, i've already had the fix applied for a temp imbalance between the pax and driver temp controls

Oh... so, you don't like being alternately roasted and frozen by the HVAC? Haha. Here's a 32 page thread about it on the NA version.

Eventually there was a firmware update that reduced the cryogenic/crematorium cycle. This was sufficient for most owners (myself included). It's about a 95% fix... the HVAC will still sometimes blast me with superheated air in the summer when the AC is on after I increase the thermostat by 2C, etc.

You would think. So would I. We are wrong. The Jeep engineers decided that the system has to act like a house thermostat (think "setting a goal temperature for the cabin") rather than having the ability to set the temperature of the air that's blowing. Normally in a car I want to control the temp of the air that's blowing on me, especially because the thermal sensors in the cabin are somewhat schizophrenic. I would especially expect the ability to control the temperature of the air in a mode called "manual".

Thanks for the reply, love your description of the problem, had a good laugh
The passenger seat will be happy there's a fix!
