Re: If I Could, What Would I Change on the WK2?

cool seats???? I didn't know they even existed!

i have the 2011 Laredo and got some options BUT Cool seats weren't.

I have the heated front ones but i have used them hmmm about 0 times since last ausgust! (cloth strim btw)
we in perth have had quite a hot n sticky summer (our last trip to Lancelin sand dunes was in 44degrees celius), cool seats wouldve been awesome!

Yes. Overland drivers only get Hot Under the Collar, but always have Cool Pants.

The cooling fans are under the 70th seats ,buy the looks of it, but no switch gear on the dash, anyone else look? The only thing I don't like are the external mirrors why not plain?

You can get an aftermarket seat cover with a built in fan that does the same thing made by Waeco. I have one in my current ride and it works well, though a little noisy in the high setting. About $90 from BCF. Of course, not as elegant as having it built in but it does the job.

Re: If I Could, What Would I Change on the WK2?

1. Better visibility from drivers seat / smaller blind spots. This is a difficult one, I know, but they could definitely do a better job with the side mirror covers that covers your front-side view as much as the mirrors aid the rear-side view. Once got a woman with pram invisible behind the a-piller and side mirror housing (no, I didn't run her over but it scared me).

2. Had a vehicle i Europe with electric park brake. Swore that I would never buy another without it. Now I did and the foot parking brake is constantly annoying me! Won't happen again.

3. Left foot space should be better and a decent foot rest.

4. A service book/schedule that actually covers my model (3.6l). This is really shitty from the Australian importer!!! The opposite of customer service.

5. Why does traction control switch off in sports mode? If you want to switch is off you have the button to do it.

5. Panel gaps are not up to todays standard.

6. The radio/media player is a chapter of its own. I have the cheapest model and the thing doesn't play the songs in the right order when using playlist instead of album, you can't delete songs from the album let alone add any and it is just too frustrating trying to play what you want. Anyway I like to listen to radio and just accidentally switched from a HDD song, info display, to radio and - got info on the radio station/song. Why isn't there a button for that info when you are in radio mode? And the sub woofer (well actually the LOUDNESS function as it was called when I was young) is wrong. The bass is way too loud on low volume but okay on high volume. Overall the sound system in Laredo is reasonable but certainly doesn't set any new standards in terms of sound quality.

Yeah, I would like the cooled leather seats but my kids vetoed leather and my ass keeps reasonably cool on the fabric. Regarding suspension I have air-suspension with 18" tyres and find it very comfortable considering I also like to know what I'm driving on. A dial with more settings would be good though - personally I would like the "Sports" setting gearbox calibration to apply in Auto (comfort) setting at my local small hills as it keeps a much better up-hill/down-hill engine control but makes the suspension uncomfortable.

Re: If I Could, What Would I Change on the WK2?

Traction control when placed in sports mode doesnt switch off, it goes into a less intrusive mode so as you can play a bit more on the corners, and yes the dash light is on.

Thank's for that info. I wonder if it is off when in reverse? I get a bit of rear wheel spin when reversing up my steep driveway.

Re: If I Could, What Would I Change on the WK2?

1. I don't like the mirrors adjusting down automatically when I put the car in reverse. There are times when I would prefer they stayed where they were set.

2. I would prefer the spare wheel to be under the vehicle like the Landrover etc. Easier to get to without unpacking the luggage area. It mucks up my plans for a rear storage unit.

1. E-brake which not only comes on in Park mode and can be manually overridden but, can be manually applied in other Auto modes eg Neutral etc

2. 2WD selectable in the Transfer Case

3. Cross-linked air suspension
