Re: Insurance Rip Off

We had previously had a transfer case failure. This was rejected on insurance because we had driven offroad accross a "river crossing" and they deemed it as water damage. In this case it was our CX9 not our Jeep.
We were in the snow and had to drive a dirt road. It rained overnight, cant say the car even got the door sills wet. Transfer case failed driving home.

Re: Insurance Rip Off

Hmm, so if it has been raining and I drive out my driveway across a gutter full of water I guess that is a river crossing?

I've continued with aami for the second year for my jeep. ~$780 Inc hire car option. Excess $500. Gio wanted $2k.

Re: Insurance Rip Off

AAMI, Allianz and NRMA are my short list based on the online quotes. I'm going to see if I can get it a bit cheaper moving both cars, home and contents to the one insurer... still need to confirm off road cover with each.

edit:AAMI online quote with hire car option and $600 excess is $889 for me.

Re: Insurance Rip Off

Just make sure you tick the windscreen option, for what every policy you choose.

Re: Insurance Rip Off

Yes, I saw some are having a problem with windscreens. I've never had to replace a windscreen before, but I might get the extra cover for the jeep.

It's $2000 for a windscreen so you may well.

Re: Insurance Rip Off

I think the no excess windscreen replacement option cost me about $30 more per year from Allianz. The Jeep was my first windscreen that I have ever replaced in 25 years of driving.

Re: Insurance Rip Off

Just checked Allianz, RAC and AMMI here in Perth. AMMI is the cheapest $849 for agreed value $72000, no excess windscreen and hire car options. Basic excess $600.

RAC was $930 for the same coverage and Allianz was $1080

Re: Insurance Rip Off

paying $1310 with Progressive (both vehicles full coverage, agreed

2012 Murano Ti (52k)
2014 JGC Laredo + QL + OR2+towbar+tint (54K)

when I updated the policy from the 2010 GU Patrol 4.8, I paid a difference of $10

A single policy with progressive is not competetive, but add two vehicles and wow (but you cannot get a quote till you sign up, sinister I think)
