Not happy Jan, I can't afford this to happen while pulling my 3 t van around the country. Before any one asks, I only do country driving.
When I get it working its off to Toyota for a Cruiser.
Cheers
one pissed off not happy camper.
Ask them to check for error codes and see if the recent TSB applies.

My inlaws have bought a LC200 to tow a van, they've had to stop at dealers for problems along the way. Clogged fuel filters.

Well the next thing to track is who has had the flash, and have they seen the issue re-occur since the flash....

Given it happened to my Jeep it would be interesting to see if this is indeed meant to be a fix to the DPF issues or are some dealers just being hopeful?

Here are the details:
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1801814.pdf

It isn't totally clear that the dpf limp mode symptoms are being addressed with this one, but it does mention the system, so worth a try. I'm guessing with the large number of failures the dealers have been hitting JA over the head regularly on this problem. If it doesn't work, then hopefully it will get revised and another attempt to fix will be provided.

Does any of the Jeep Inner Sanctum Brains Trust know if it's possible to check whether our VINs are indeed subject to a TSB? When I asked the dealer I was told mine is not listed, but to be honest I'd rather a second opinion. I've also tried registering on the Jeep US owner's site, but even after dodging up a US address I wasn't able to gain access. It'd have probably spat out the export VIN anyway.

The other approach is if anyone has received the 18-018-14 TSB update on a build near mine, built 4/2013?

Cheers,
Steve

Steve, our 4/2013 build is booked in for its 20,000 service on the 2nd April. Will see then if the TSB is applicable for her or not and let you know.

From the TSB:
If the vehicle is included on the RRT VIN list or if the technician finds the DTC, perform the Repair Procedure.
If they can get one of those codes from your system they should be applying it.

Thanks SJandL, that'd be cool.

Note the "OR". If the VIN is on the list it is clear that it should receive it... irrespective of codes present or absent.

Cheers,
Steve

I took mine to the dealer yesterday, I asked the service manager, who I have a reasonable rapport with. I showed him the Service Bulletin that was posted dated the 18 March and he said that it was not known to him. He asked if it applied to Australia. He spoke about the pre delivery burn that they are doing to all JGC now. Mine had a burn and it seems fine, atm.

He is doubtful whether this would fix the problem as mine occurred while doing 110k/hr on the Bruce Highway.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

And do you believe I received another recall in the post yesterday that takes 2 hrs to download. I asked him about this and he didn't believe it addressed my problem.

I asked the mechanic did he inspect the exhaust filter and he's said ...huh?
Ah no i just burnt it out.........
