You must be right there Benn0. Here's the letter that came in the mail today and part of the addendum...

Yes, you don't see a message if the regens perform as expected, ie. you do longer drives regularly.

If you do short trips then the regen may not have time to run, so eventually when the filter reaches a certain threshold (~72% on the OBD scanner, or 80% according to the letter sent out) the EVIC will pop up and say keep driving to allow the regen to run.

Who got a letter from Jeep, explaining DPF and how it works and asking me to insert this letter into my drivers handbook as a supplement.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

I got mine too, pretty useless, but obviously responding to customer complaints. Which is a good indication that things may be changing under new management...... hopefully.

Better than sending us a letter with a big R.T.F.M on it.

I learnt something from the reprinted manual page: 164B

In the last service the dealer forgot (neglected) to reset the oil life meter, after they did the oil change (i hope they actually changed it).

If the oil life meter gets down to 0% oil life it will prevent a regen from happening.
Mine is sitting at about 30% now because it wasn't reset at service. - should be about 80% if it was reset.
Looks like i'll have to do it myself.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Yeah, snuke has mentioned a few times now that this reading is important to DPF regens.....

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

I haven't received the letter and supplement in the mail.

So I rang Customer Care.

Within 4 minutes of hanging up (I timed it), the addendum was in my inbox.

Steve1307 - I took a hint from Snuke yonks ago (I think it was Snuke) that when I drop the vehicle in for a service I change the EVIC to be on the Oil Life screen before I hand over the keys. So when they start the vehicle up, it's in their face.
