It might be worth asking them if there are any codes registered that match the TSB.....

edit: looking at the list of those who have had the issue, it isn't just NSW and QLD, and I don't believe it is dodgy diesel.
Im at the service centre now. The assistant is telling me they will be installing an update that causes it to regen earlier.

Not sure of build date Barboots. I think it was April 13, I know it hit the shores 30/6/13 as we were in Europe. We took delivery early August when we returned. Ill check when I get the car back.

Edit: Have there been any instances in Europe? Ive just been told that there seems to be an issue in the regen program and how it handles the EGR valve. He (the shop supervisor) wasn't sure if it was that it held it open or closed for too long. Any way, he said that in Europe the valve is always open and that apparently they have not had any DPF problems.

Funny we always use the same servo, and so do our 8 business vehicles that are all diesel and all have DPF's....
No comment from the service guys when you tell them no warning and no way to drive at highway speeds. I have this feeling we won't be seeing out this lease.

60kph at 3rd gear? My car only gets to 45kph at 3rd.

Hi,

This may be covered already but is there a successful DPF delete being done in Australia.

Pete

Lets hope they also do something similar on mine. At the moment I don't think that it has even been touched yet.

I did send a very snotty e-mail to Jeep Oz yesterday and I did get a return phone call this morning, so it appears that someone is actually reading customer feedback e-mails.

Regards

Adrian

Which service center are you at? They seems somewhat knowledgeable at least.

The EGR valve opens to recycle exhaust gases and reduce emissions. Exhaust gases in the combustion chamber means less oxygen, and lower combustion temps. When the regen runs the computer is supposed to close the EGR valve allowing more oxygen in the cylinder and allow the combustion temps to increase.

I haven't heard of any issues in europe, but who knows, I don't know why theirs would behave differently to ours, but perhaps the flash update will change something there.

All this info is just stuff I've worked out from reading up on it, so I could be off base, but this is my understanding.

I was at Albion. They really didn't have too much definitive info, it was all "I remember they spoke about this at the course".... I believe JA might actually be teaching the mechanics, its just the mechanics aren't really taking it all in. Hard to believe, I know!

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Yeah, but at least they know something, the Mansfield guys deny everything going by reports. They don't even admit there is a flash update for it. Someone was told they had to drive at 109kph to regen by the girl at the counter.....

I think I'll be going to Albion for my services.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

They may well be reading emails, but the jeep oz track record is woeful in dealing with problems in a professional, transparent fashion. Why is it that this known issue is so badly handled by the dealers - so many different stories....
