Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Oil temp was up from around 90 to 105-110 this morning, not driving far or fast, and had a bit of a burning smell about.

Is this ok (2500kms) and how would i know if the regen is happening?

Sorry, newbie to JGC's, 5 weeks now...

I'll chime in on this. Oil level and increased crank case pressure will trigger a fault and stop a regen from happening. I see this 5-6 times a month in the shop on Cummins ISX series engines (i'm a heavy diesel mechanic). Just a heads up.

I watched my oil temp on a recent trip when it was warm (30ish ambient) and 105-110 was quite common, particularly when climbing a bit. I believe oil temp will typically be 10-15 degrees higher than water temp.

I've been looking for a definitive temp at which you would start to worry but haven't found anything solid. 120-130 seems quite likely as a max and synthetic oils will cope with that.

I'd be interested in others views?

Interesting to know what your oil level is.
I believe your DPF will need to be replaced, at least thats what I'd be asking for.

Apparently the Jeep has a failed exhaust temperature sensor and is off the road until the new part arrives from USA.....bummer!!!!!

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

new member. picked jeep grand blackhawk CRD 1 week ago, just hit limp mode with DFP... no warning to regen - with just 500km on the clock. the previous 200km we're "highway driving" .. back at the dealer today.

im very patient with such issues - but after reading this thread, im fuming

asked the sales guy many times care of the CRD, driving styles etc. even specifically said the car will be subjected the short trips - an they said "no worries" and didnt offer up any info.

(in this case, i wasnt doing short trips! this vehicle has lots of short trips ahead of it! and im worried)

Hi Morles,

Is your vehicle an MY15? If you picked it up a week ago, I would've thought they'd have done all the recall updates as per thread posts.

How disappointing.

Regards,

Jason

Believe its an MY14, last of the Blackhawk edition things. will update my profile later today

im usually not that pedantic, but since the dealer has acted a bit shady already, think its time for me to be more proactive - still researching myself, but can someone give me a quicklist of the critical fixes/recalls that should have been done?

Cheers
