If it stopped the soot build up would be great but what about a forced burn each service. I had the 30000km service done on 12/12/14 showed no codes or problems on starscan diagnostic tool then or on the 20000km service. They have done all upgrades and recalls to this vehicle but not showing its not doing the DPF regens. All data has been sent to Jeep to read codes find whats wrong this time just waiting for them to come back from Holidays. Hopefully tomorrow.

Sorry SJandL but it is a concern. I thought I had one that works as it should, but it let me down. Fingers crossed for you!
I was told there is a new program for the DPF, but it wasn't installed on my car, that gives you more time before it faults. Apparently it's very recent. Not sure if it will solve the problem but I'll have it installed asap.
Maybe you could enquire about it when you get your service?

Burger, first had trouble with mine on the 26th October 2014 with 21825k on the odometer. Flat bedded to Mackay and had the prescribed regen done. On 8th November, same problem DPF full into limp mode. 22285k on the Odometer. Soot reading 118% full. So it went from a burn off to 118% full in 460kms of which 180 was the run back along the highway from Mackay. This time around had the vehicle serviced for year service and regen carried out again. On 11th December had problem for the third time. Told Jeep would not have it back if only a regen done, as it had done about 2000k since last burn off and had been extensively on the highway. Still haven't got it back. PCM taken out and sent to Sydney but they have all gone on holidays. Bet they don't own Jeeps. Was hoping that someone had tried the Penrite product and it worked as Jeep seem to be clueless.

I find it hard to beileve its acting the way it should. Our local VW mechanic who services some of our other diesel's tells me that the VW's can regen regardless of speed. We havent had any problems with the 3 VW's that also have DPF'S and they barely ever see freeways or speeds above 80km/h as they are service vehicles. Infact they are regularly in slow stop start traffic. One has over 170,000 trouble free km, the other over 210,000 dpf trouble free km (its had 2 x gearbox rebuilds). My BIL has a Volvo, and a regen is part of their service requirements. His Volvo never sees a freeway, infact i dont think it sees any speed faster than 50km/h as its 4 yrs old and his wife only dives the kids to school, and its only got 26000km on the clock.
Its got to be Jeep's software. From what i understand, there have been no problems with the pre MY2014 jeeps with the same engine.
All i know is that I wouldn't feel comfortable taking it off road.

10 minutes ? What a joke. No use if you are halfway down a bush track.

Yes. It doesn't sound like they have actually fixed the problem. Hopefully within that 10mins it might decide to do a self regen otherwise once again you are screwed.

It just gives you 10 minutes to hate the thing for what it's going to do to you... before it has done it.

Yes, this isn't likely, either the forced regen failed to clear the dpf or you have a faulty sensor in the dpf.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

10 seconds or 10 minutes, once you get the message that the filter is full and you must drive at highway speeds, this is a sure indicator that for some reason regens aren't working. Maybe the oil level is too high, or there is a failed sensor, who knows, but if you are doing regular highway drives and regens are working properly then it shouldn't ever get to that point.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Yesterday the dreaded DPF alarm and limp mode came up for the first time. Off to Westpoint Jeep on the back of a tilt tray this morning. 18,500 klm , 85% of the driving over 80kph with very little stop driving for the other 15%.

Could this issue be with the brand of diesel that is used?

I changed from Caltex to BP for the last 4 or 5 tanks of fuel.
