That has been my guess, with the possibility some data inputs have been incorrect or as you say the programming hasn't allowed for handling of unexpected data.

Some owners have had success with replacement sensors and complete filter replacement, but these have had slightly different symptoms (ie. a manual regen at the service center failed).

So it looks like there is a general issue as a result of programming, and then some more specific issues that are related to faulty hardware, but youd expect some level of failure there.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Seems to me that software misreading the prossure is the more likely cause in that if for some reason the pressure is misread and immediately misread as 118% full, then that could trigger a conditional result that brings on the DPF nearing full message (noting that mine has never shown how full the DPF was on the EVIC) and at the same time or in a sequence after that, triggering the limp mode because the PCM was reading the pressure to indicate that the DPF was > 100%.

My selling dealer replied to my are you ignoring me message saying "Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia advises that the re-programming of the computer in your vehicle has been extensively tested and should indeed solve the DPF issue you had been experiencing."

So obviously they are saying that it was all in the programming and I guess they won't be telling us minions what was wrong with their programming.

Interesting statement, not that I have had the DPF issue but that doesn't seem to be a factual occurrence with some of the other re-programming issues.

Demand for diesel is higher so it is more expensive....apparently.

So it is not only US cars with this message.

I think there was a software change recently that displays it differently now. Rather than saying drive at highway speeds, it just says keep driving.

It sounds like Jeep's Ad agency is getting involved in program updates. Next time it will say "Don't Hold Back".

Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Still a complete joke. Try this scenario:

So I'm 5 minutes from my carpark in the city, 10 minutes till I'm due at meeting with a client. "Regen, keep driving" message comes up. So I ring my client and say, "sorry, I'm going to be late - I cannot stop my car". So I try and keep driving but it is peak hour and I'm stopped in traffic. Car goes onto limp mode and dies on George Street.

What utter ridiculousness. Jeep should be panned for selling a car with a clear design flaw.

Vent over.

Not cool GM. I thought that the MY11-13 diesels were virtually immune to this? Yesterday I probably wouldn't have included "virtually" either...

Have loads of fun with your dealer. It's the only positive we can extract from such mandated contact.

Cheers,
Steve

That's a bugger, hadn't heard of 2012 having dramas. Hope you get it sorted.

My brother has a diesel Mazda 3, it did a similar thing where DPF full light came on and then into limp mode. He kept driving and vehicle came good.
