Yeah, I think landrover will give a similar issue too. The key is to find a good mechanic who isn't full of shit, whatever the make is.

Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Good luck with that.
I know. All cars can potentially have problems - it is how they are responded to that counts. Jeep are pathetic at responding and my local dealer is shocking. I hate going there - you cannot even find a park, so I'm in a bad mood before I even talk to one of the work experience kids.

I'm getting old and cranky and I want to be treated a bit better these days.

I have an Alfa and a Peugeot too, so I know all about cars with problems, but I've got a great mechanic, I almost WANT to have problems so I have an excuse to go and hang out at his shop.

I couldn't have POSSIBLY put that any better.
You pay an exhorbitant hourly rate for any work, which is done by morons who don't have a clue and don't give a rats.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Well, thanks to Steve's figures (Steve1307) for the DPF % full PID settings, I now have that displaying when wanted using the EngineLink app on my iPad.
(Engine Link doesn't impress me compared to Dash Command, but does have the custom PID feature, which Dash Command does not.)

Have only driven 40klms or so with it displaying (all slow speed, around town), and I've seen it rise from 48% full to now about 53%.
As somebody said, it doesn't seem to update while displayed, but updates each time you switch to it from another page.

Hopefully I'll see a Regen at about 65%???? - if the conditions are right.

I'll watch it with great interest....... And alarm if a Regen doesn't happen, not that I've had any issues in the 5,000 kilometres I've done thus far.

Yep maybe 65% if you're on the highway.

maybe 71-73% if slower urban driving.

Mine seems to have a habit of picking that I'm 500 yards from home and then starting.

I picked my son up from school Tuesday on 71.7% and sure enough, in the 1.5km journey home it starts....... ....
I'd had the regen a couple of days before aborted because i arrived home a couple of minutes into it.

I asked my son,. " instead of going straight home and getting into the homework, shall we go for a short blast in the Jeep?"

No arguments there. 20 minutes later it's at 8% full.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Thanks again Steve.

Why the hell don't they have a manual Regen button like some trucks do.
You could pick your time to clean it out!

Eg: I'll be highway driving on Saturday, and again on Monday. If I don't quite get to 65% by then, I could just initiate it manually.

But that would be too easy, wouldn't it.

Cheers
David

Steve.

Got the 80% full warning today on the way to work. Unfortunately did not have the ODB dongle plugged in, but regen completed after an extended drive to work.

Regards

Adrian.

It would be great to get the evic warning and have the scanner plugged in to confirm we have the same scale......

I've been doing short trips all week and mine has gone from ~20% to 33.9%

Steve, Adrian, all,
Apologies,
You've probably posted earlier in this long thread, (can't remember who has had what done) but who amongst you have, or have not, had the Dec18 software fix done?

Thanks in advance,
David

PS
Have just ordered a new OBDII WiFi device which I can leave plugged in permanently, rather than the old one which had to be unplugged to avoid flattening my battery.
Similar to this, but managed a slightly better price ($62 incl postage.)
It should mean I can monitor things more often than previously.

David.

Have had the update done as mine threw the teddy out of the cot in Nov 14. After about twenty thousand kms how pissed was I?????? Thought I had dodged the bullet but alas the reaper came calling.

Since then its been pretty good and this is only the second visible issue I have had, First was a 90% whilst on the freeway (can't remember when) but was about new year time and now this one. Watched a burn on the tablet just after getting the $8.50 dongle delivered. Showed exhaust temps up to about 575 degrees and fuel consumption went up bay about 2 litres per 100k.

Regards

Adrian

I was under the impression that if you did drive on a highway long enough (20 min or so) then the DPF was to burn off with out the need for the computer to inject diesel during the exhaust stroke. Like i mean, why do it only at highway speeds if the computer can make the car do it any time?
Am i the only one who thought this? Like i mean, we were all talking about Passive and Active regens. Now it seems there is only 1.

David, if you have a look at Steve's post #725 pg61, he compiled a list of some who have had the update. Include me in those as well.

cheers
Ian
