WOW! Reminds me of:

It would have been funny if a tow truck pulled up with a wk2 in limp mode on the back just as he said it!

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

My Limited is at the dealer tonight with the DPF issue. 35,600kms on the clock and a service done since last December. I assume the Dec. fix wasn't done last service. How would I check that? And to be proactive in future, how do I find out exactly what the car needs applied, and whether those updates have been done during the service. Is it possible to check before I leave the service centre car park? Lucky Jeep Assist covered everything since I'm >100km from home.

Application of updates should be on your service documentation.

Cheers,
Steve

So I would go back through every service documentation and create a list of the updates applied. But compare it to what? Where do I find what should be applied?

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

I tend to grab them as they appear here in discussion... though I only accept updates which claim to fix a problem my car is actually demonstrating. This can be a whole other battle!

The full schedule of TSBs and recalls is here...
http://wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm
... however it's not set out in a format which is easy to quickly digest, especially in finding stuff applicable to our local market.

It's possible another member here... like the highly organised Snuke... may have a file of locally relevant TSBs. If not, you have a research project ahead of you.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve. But if you wait for the DPF issue to show, you will be in for a tow!

Ah yes... sorry, that was one I made a point of getting applied proactively.

You know, if they said that to me, I would go straight to full on dick.
They are putting you and everyone else they take this position with in the position to be towed unnecessarily, potentially a dangerous position if the car starts slowing down while on a highway.
The TSB clearly states Grand Cherokee (International Markets only)
Proceed to tell me that excludes RHD export vehicles will result in an almighty bitch slap. They are morons, absolute dipshits.

Here is my job sheet from when I had limp mode, well the car did, I was fine.
As you can see the dealer circled item 7, the TSB that fixes the DPF issue, as he was talking to me, saying "This is the important one".

It will vary form car to car as to whether you have an issue. This is what the VIN is irrelevant to many TSBs. They are there to fix concerns owners raise. If it's not raised, then no need to consider it. The DPF one should be an exception.

Personally, I went through every MY14 TSB on the WK2 site, and checked what may be relevant to me. As you can see in the above image, the last line were two that I requested that were not applicable to the car, and rightly so. One is for the V8, it is the ECO Off fix, pre CRD option available.
There aren't really that many, have a look at them all, and save the relevant ones.

As I blundered a bit with the TSBs I requested, I now keep them in the phones notes. The three I will be requesting be applied in the service due this month are:

21-012-15 - Flash: Transmission Shift Enhancements & ECO off

08-071-14 - Flash: Park Assist Enhancement

08-084-14 - Audio turn instructions do not pronounce the Street Names correctly

When requesting TSBs to be applied you MUST tell them you have a problem that is relevant to the issue the TSB covers. No problem, no TSB, as they don't get reimbursed for the work from Jeep Aus.

Thanks for clarifying Snuke. It'd be tricky going "full on dick" with a dick that will not go full on.

Thanks Snuke, great info. How would a service department determine if a TSB had been carried out? I am travelling and go to different dealers for each service.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

I've just found the service doco from the last service. RRT 14-104 was done and yet I displayed the same symptoms yesterday as what it is meant to cure. More important than ever now to know whether the update was really done or not.
