Seems that airbags are the top of the hit parade at the moment. I see that Mercedes were mentioned in this latest massive recall, so I wonder if it will also affect the Jeep models.

I understand that the GC's and the KL's are fitted out with the Swedish AutoLiv airbags not Takata. I confirmed the KL fit-out today when I was perusing AutoLiv's 2014 financials ('cos I was bored) and FCA garnered a mention, specifically because the KL was a recent vehicle launch.

I also learnt that they provide the ACC radar system to Chrysler as well.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Just for interest, I hired a four ton diesel truck on the weekend which had a DPF WARNING label. During the long drive a dash light appeared telling me a burn was happening. If I had to turn off the truck before the burn was finished there was a manual override button so I could start the engine again and do a manual burn. I was advised if I didn't do this I would go into limp home mode and cost me $500. So it seems like two things need to happen. They have either fixed the problem (as stated by others in this thread) or they should put a warning light on the EVIC indicating a burn is required.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Yeah, but pre-fix patch even when the system thought a burn was required and even when the driver was on a highway for an extended period, the car would still fail to regen and then go into limp mode.

Previously the EVIC would warn when a regen was in operation and show you the percentage, but they disabled this for some reason. My guess is that it was frightening the owners who were new to diesels and resulting in visits to service centers because they didn't know what the message meant.

I have never seen either of those messages, but have never had a limp mode in 30,000km ????

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

There appears to be a new update of the same TSB for the DPF/ knocking which is also issued as an RRT - done warranty at service

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1804415.pdf
It doesn't specify a VIN range but is for MY14's

Oh dear, the plot thickens......

Has anyone had, or heard of any problems with knocking, cruise control or DPF since having the DEC 18th update done? I was hopeful that was it, final, done and dusted.
Maybe it ain't so?

Bugger!

[QUOTE=Futuresystem;1183499]Oh dear, the plot thickens......

Sorry to let you know this but yes the Dec 18th 14-104 Update for knocking / Clatter failed on my vehicle. There has been no noticeable change to the clatter with mine however there were days initially that it was noticeably better but that soon stopped. Service Dept are hopefully addressing All the issues with my vehicle at present as I have posted before,(HVAC, Clatter, Throttle flat spot after latest tranny update, Tranny shift indication, Radio Range plus a few minor electronic glitches). Had it for a week to date but at least they are trying to solve the puzzle with this POS.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

They must still be having issues even after the 18-019-14 REV.A update with one of the covered symptoms.

They list all the same symptoms again in this new update, but that does not mean that they have made changes to the code that affects each symptom since the last update. Some might just be carry over, but I guess we will never know for sure.

I had experienced both the cruise control and clutter/detonation type noise symptoms which were both fixed by the 18-019-14 REV.A update. However in my case the clutter/detonation noise is back and I've now done approx 6000kms since the 18-019-14 REV.A update was applied.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Hard to say, as I very much try to ignore the car's personality... but I've been having thoughts that maybe I get more clatter than I did pre-update. I also notice a lot of 1000 Rpm fast idle on start-up. I've not been diligent enough to say it's a new thing, but I'll chuck it out there and see what sticks...

Cheers,
Steve

Personality indeed. They do have a personality, and MOSTLY I love it.
Did a couple of hundred klms + in the car yesterday and enjoyed every bit of the drive.

Only a month since I had the Dec18 update done.
So far: no issues.

No clatter. (Did previously, occasionally)
Cruise control works 100% of the time.
No DPF issues. (Never have had issues!) I do monitor it virtually all the time on anything but short drives on my phone or iPad thanks to Steve1307's PID settings.

There seems to be less initial turbo lag when I start from a dead stop. I'm 99% sure of that, as it was quite noticeable before.
