No it isnt. I may have started that rumour because the specs are just about identical, but they are a different unit.

Dunno about the hose tho - taping it up might be a bit shonky.
Hope you are back on the road soonest.
+1 ... unfortunately a result of having technicians and not old school mechanics. unless the pulley was deformed somehow after the clip jammed it.

Re: I've broken down

The problem wasn't the bearing, the actual pulley sides where the belt runs was chopped up - plastic!

I'll hedge a bet that the motors in the Jeep and the Nissan are out of the same factory by VM Motori. Sorry nissan but you are getting greedy. Those extras listed ...

Re: I've broken down

I double checked - navara 550 is a renault V9X built in their plant in Cleon France. Then fitted in the Datsun factory in Spain where the navara and pathfinder are built.

And you thought Datsun were Japanese!

Gmwk2, the throttle control light also came on when my vehicle shut down on the highway. It then refused to start until after it was towed back to the dealership the following day. Interesting that you belt broke as well. I am forwarding a list of all my issues to 4x4 aust magazine tomorrow, in response to a couple of letters that have been sent in complaining about the 4wd service issue , will be interesting if they run a full article on the poor reliability and electrical issues.

By the way, they never did find what caused my throttle control light to come on, or what shut the vehicle down. Out of interest, was it whilst on the highway that this occurred?

Just on a suburban street, was probably only doing 40 - 50km/h.
