Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

Could explain difference in service intervals, 20000k in euro, 10000k and a case of ring burn in aus!

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

Has there been any resolution about servicing the CRD and the $200 oil filter and $300 oil yet?

I would prefer not to pay $700 for an oil change

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

I was quoted $50 for the filter today from the dealer, so it may not be all that bad.

Yep,
I did see on another forum that the oil filter is quoted in Aus at $55.
The earlier grossly inflated price was either a dealer ripoff or a parts settling down and availability issue.
I'll be happy with $55....
Our past 2 GU Nissans with the 3l diesel i have had serviced with oil and filter changes every 5k to hopefully avoid any engine bang issues.
It will be brilliant to book in every 10k with our new one!

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

No need to PM, I just called Jeep in Mosman and spoke to Parts. He had none in stock (i was surprised by this info), but said he could get as many as needed next day.
The price was street price (rrp), not trade as I did not ask for trade pricing although I can get it.

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

Rang 2 dealers for a price on 10000k CRD service, $560 from selling dealer, $480 from the nearest dealer, went with the cheaper one,

Service. 22 Dec, genuine oil. $160
!filter. $165
Labour. $110
Plus GST

Asked about filter price, got the no way! But the upside is at least it was under $500, and at best they only got up me for $100

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

I think I will order a filter from the dealers and do a 5k km service, as it will not hurt the beast. Think I might go synthetic oil as it should be run in by 5,000km.

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

It seems strange to me that the oil filter price is so variable - from ~$200 - $50, also at this time the prices are coming from dealers only and therefore should be for exactly the same Mopar part.
Either some dealers are ripping off big time or there is a part number issue.
Surely there is a recommended retail price for these things? separate to any discounted price people can get.
As far as synthetic oil is concerned there is a pretty clear spec requirement for the oil, that relates to the diesel particulate filter in the exhaust. I will certainly be making sure any oil goes in ours will comply.

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

in 2003 my GC with the new 2.7 crd 5k services after the second service I ordered 4 filters and got a mopar filters 6 months alter i ordered another 4 and got Bosch filters they had MB stickers on them. I asked why they said they were made by Bosch for Mopar and MB. Prices ranged from $17 to $50 from the same dealer. soon hopefully some one will find the VM part number.

PS the hemi 12k service was invoiced as $355 which the dealer paid they gave me a copy.

Re: Jeep Australia Servicing Deals

Once this filter cost is sorted, a minor service, regardless which motor, V6,V8, 3.0, should all be similar cost , around the $400 mark.
