Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

I've had those LED's in from that seller for over 4000K's now without issue.
My 10K service is booked in end of January. I'll mention it but will just keep an eye on them at this stage.

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

Well, it's now at the stage that ACCC is involved and the Dept of Transport and Infrastructure has taken a keen interest in this issue. The Dept of Transport and Infrastructure are the government body that issue the national recall of consumer items if found unsafe.

So far Jeep Australia have stone walled any progress and my Dealer won't replace the effected parts a second time till Jeep have a solution. LHS was replaced before Xmas.

The right hand side of my vehicle still hasn't been replaced yet as they are still waiting for parts.

So now I'm just sitting tight and watch Jeep Australia deal with and now actually have make a effort and find a solution. I just hoping the replace everything at the same time so I can put my own LED solution in.

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

Although I fully agree with your approach, unfortunately Jeep Australia can do very little about it with the exception of highlighting the issue to HQ in Detroit, and continue to replace headlamp assemblies. They are not in a position to engineer a lamp assembly, or lightbulb holder. I even doubt if some dealerships can even change a lightbulb. But that is another discussion.
If the Dept of Transport can help influence Jeep Aust to be more proactive, than that is a good thing.

But for less than $50 per vehicle they could put in LED's Which they should have in the first place!

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

Changed out my license plate globes to LED's last night (screwed up one of the holders which means taking the tailgate liner out) but interestingly, the holders are also charred. My DRL holders were replaced last week including the headlamps under warranty. I'm pretty sure its a batch batch of holders not designed to take the operating temperature of what is after all a standard globe.

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

Hi everyone!
It appears that if Jeep want a solution to the DRL issue they should surf the WEB, read some blogs and listen to the fix that is being bandied aroud by Jeep owners.
I checked my lights and well they suffer the smoking issue.
I will notifying Jeep on Monday and advising them that My Jeep was purchased with out this accessory and require it to be put back to standard.
In saying this My Jeep has been great towing the van.
Lithgow to Port Lincoln and return 13.9 litres per 100 and did not miss a beat.
7 months young and going into its 20K service on Friday.
regards
JohnW

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

Put my car in for the 10,000klm service today. Pointed out the hazed DRL reflectors, and the service guy said he had never seen or had an issue with them before. I asked him to check a GC in the showroom, then compare to any of the GC's in for servicing. He reported that the showroom car was clear, but all those in for servicing, had clouded lenses.
He has ordered me a new set of headlights, at a warranty cost of over $5,100.
Will take about 5 weeks to arrive, meaning that HQ does not hold stock. surprise surprise. You would think that at that cost, Jeep would be looking for a permanent fix.

Re: Jeep Customer Service and DRL's

No. Castle Hill told me "it is normal". So I went to Penrith.
CH also stuffed me around on other issues, and just didn't seem to care. I have written them off as a joke, Pity, because they started out looking very promising.
