Jeep Laredo CRD wins Drive 4wd of the year again.

The difference was so vast between the JGC and the competitors, they didn't even bother to test them:

"We have an announcement to make: the winner of Drive's best four-wheel-drive of the year for 2012 is ... Jeep's Grand Cherokee. Yep, we're calling it, and before a single wheel has turned in testing.

After assessing its likely competitors for the title, it was felt by the judging panel that none could throw out a serious enough challenge to the big Jeep to warrant inclusion. So, for the first time in the award's seven-year history, a reigning champion has been crowned before testing even begins."

well done!

I am surprised by the comments about the Wrangler though....

"...despite the Wrangler's mountain goat-like ability to go virtually anywhere, it continues to be blighted as a day-to-day ownership proposition by its rudimentary accommodation, sub-standard driving dynamics and lack of on-road refinement." - I'm sorry, but this is why a Wrangler is a Wrangler.

Great stuff! Perhaps you should post this a bit higher up so that the Yanks see it before the big launch of their CRD next year. I would have preferred that they at least did some testing. The others will claim they weren't given a chance. I'm not worried about the Wrangler comments. That is just what a Wrangler is. People love them regardless.

Good point!
Anyway, I wonder if anyone has told the Drive people about the sand issue, oh, and the recovery hook issue, and... and...
