Tracey from Jeep Cust Services (mind you, in the case of Jeep Australia, services does not necessarily mean "good") was supposed to call me on Monday to give me details. Naturally, true to form, she did not. When I called on Monday afternoon, they said she was in a meeting. Yesterday, their answering machine kicked in at 3:30pm saying they only worked till 5:00pm and therefore they were closed. So still trying to obtain info from them.
Here is the update Download location... Let me know if anyone needs assistance but I think there is some Map update required. You are correct, this update addresses some of the issues.

NEW software application RHR-RHW-RHP 2.184

Special thanks to SOX!!!

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Just successfully contacted Tracey at Jeep CS.
She stated the reason she did not return my calls is because she had nothing to report, even though she did last week. (mystery).
In any event, what I have gathered is the following.
1. Those who lodged a complaint about the routing issue, and have a CS ref will be supplied the updated maps free. Others are going to be asked to pay for them. Jeep are not going to inform those with a ref. that maps are available, so you will need to chase them. Under the current arrangement (Jeep with Navteq) dealers have to pay for the maps, and then on sell to customers. In cases where the complaint has been previously lodged, the dealers need to get reimbursement from Jeep Aust.
2. The TSB 08-066-13 is not known to them (so they say). I told them I expect the TSB to be installed at the same time, and would not accept any delay.

Basically, I get the impression that Jeep Australia have no intention of providing this fix, voluntarily, so owners are going to need to fight them to get any sort of justice.

The TSB is not hard to find. TSB 08-066-13 RHR/W/P 2.184 enhancements - JeepForum.com

Dealers just waiting to be spoon fed as usual. The TSB doesn't mention any NAV updates - part of jeeps plan to keep it separate from the map so they can try to rip us off again I guess.

Time for a call to the ACCC for anyone who doesn't have a case number.

It is not hard to find if you are a member of this forum, or have access to Jeep's TSB database, as would Jeep Australia employees.
However, no matter how much information you put in front of Jeep Australia employees, they are either mentally challenged, blind, or just plain ignorant to recognise it. I suspect they have all 3 of those attributes.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Another update specific to navigation. Wonder whether this would address our problems.

Ignore the title of this link
NEW software application RHR-RHW-RHP 2.184

PDF TSB 08 070 13 http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0807013.pdf
PDF does point out that TSB 08-066-13 (2.184) update is required first.

Good to hear.
I have mine booked in next Wednesday for its 20K service.
I'd better get onto both Jeep and my dealer to let them know of the TSB so they can "hopefully" fix this once and for all.
I'll even take in the TSB no. when I drop it off

Cheers allypally.

Edit. Just read that TSB on wk2jeeps.com and it doesn't specifically mention our problem. Will wait and see.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Spoke to Rob late last week - asked him for an update on my Nav failure case. He said that they were very close to having a fix, and if I called back on Friday this week (27/9) he hoped to be able to give me the "good news".

The mind just boggles.

I don't have sat nav but instead of ringing Custer service why don't you all ring Veronica johns - go through the head office general number and ask for Veronica johns PA. I've done this and got a result.

If you all coordinate - everyone rings on the same day.

If nothing else it would be good sport and tie up their office for a day....

I have posted information on the RJ4 Radio updates for my Premium Member Friends from OZ. Please respect that this is a Premium Member service and outside linking will likely get my hosting shut down (again). Anyway I promised to post it for you guys and this time you get it before the North Americans!
