I have found them helpful and they are aware of the Jeep sat nav problem. Contact details are:

Tel: 6205 3706
Email: Narelle.Bramwell@act.gov.au

Follow their directions. Lodge an official complaint. The more unhappy Jeep buyers who look for legal recourse or financial compensation - the more Jeep will be interested in fixing this problem for ALL owners.

Good luck!
Bungendore,

Thanks for the info. I've contacted Narelle and have started the process with the Office of Fair Trading.

I'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Jeep AU and some of their dealers are RETARDED !!!
Got a call the week before last to book my car in for its 6 monthly service.
Told them I wanted the Satnav update.....silence. Told them about my case with Jeep and that according to Jeep AU Customer abuse department, the dealers know all about this.....silence. Was told they would need to call up the service manager to see what disks I was talking about.
Got a call back saying they do not have the disks and would need to order them. I advised them, they could be downloaded......silence.
I have now been waiting over a week to find out if,when, where, what is going to happen.
Again JEEP, PATHETIC SERVICE FROM THE TOP DOWN !!!!!
It is really not that hard to get your shit together.

Are we related ? My experience exactly here in the West too! Common denominator - Jeep Australia!

I believe the reason they cannot download the software is because the work experience kids are using the computer to order the pizzas for lunch.
Needless to say all your points are quite valid, and in this day and age, there really is no logical excuse for their retarded actions.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

This is REALLY PISSING ME OFF NOW JEEP AUSTRALIA !!!!
I take the car in for its 50k km service and make sure they have the fix disk.
After I pick it up I notice that I am now running Firmware 2.184 (was 2.136) and they said it was all they could do.
Thought I would go to Manly Vale and put in a Brookvale address that failed before and guess what - SAME ****ING PROBLEM. only a 25km detour to North Ryde, not Brookvale. Same thing if I put in an address in Turramurra, it wants to take me to Lavender Bay, which is also the opposite way. Total FAIL

So I will be reactivating my ACCC case and they can sort it out with these morons.
I have wasted enough time chasing them up and arranging the dealer to have the disks, only to be rooted around AGAIN !!!.
Next time I will be demanding a full refund on the SatNav cost, or I might see if I can get a refund on the car, as Jeep have had more than enough chances to fix it.

Go your hardest Enforcer. I found the CTTT process pretty simple and got a result from Jeep Aus for my issues before it went to arbitration. Jeep Aus caved in when they got a call from Fair Trading - they twigged I was deadly serious and sorted things out. Problem you are going to have is there is no solution to your Nav issue, so maybe the only way to help you is a reimbursement of the Nav system cost.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

Just hang a week or so. I think those who lodged a complaint will receive a letter.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

I called Tracey this morning and was advised that there will be a letter sent out to Jeep owners for a "complimentary" map upgrade to 2013/14 maps.

She could not tell me who will get this complimentary update. i.e. those with case numbers or those whose vehicle was built in 20XX.

All the letters should be received by the end of Feb. However, she also told me to call back if I hadn't received the letter by the 2nd week of March.

Another wait.

I respect your view Ally and I don't have Nav, but the CTTT is a simple process and in my view worth the few bucks - if you all lodged a claim it just might push things along.

Seems all you have at the moment is a letter might be sent out maybe in another several weeks, offering something or other, to who knows who. And Tracey is reliable?

This might be a time where you can use this forum and get something coordinated happening.

Up to you guys....

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

There is a tribunal on this thursday, where a GC owner is taking Jeep to court over the nav situation.

I think yesterday's announcement was a direct result of that effort.

I would tend to wait the result of that court finding. Hopefully, it is not made confidential.
My bet is that Jeep will make a settlement.

Re: Jeep Navigation System Fail

I called an spoke to Tracey and she told me the same story about an update being available and a letter being sent to people who are affected.
I bet they only offer this to people who have lodged a case and are still whinging about it 2 years later.
I was told they need to check if it will fix my car and was promised a call back by COB tomorrow, I will not be holding my breath and voiced my frustration over the very poor response by Chrysler over this issue. I then got a sob story that they are relying on a 3rd party and that they are suffering too. I am sure they are with my money in their bank and a pathetic "Customer Service" team that are just reading the same BS script hoping we will all go away.
If I do not hear from them, I will be escalating my case with Consumer Affairs.

Because I'm sure that 3rd party is completely unwilling and unable to supply new updates to Jeep Australia. I feel sorry for JA /s

Probably more like, the updates will be a cost per install / license, and senior management are too busy pinching pennies - while their customers are trying to drive to New Zealand when they want to go to bunnings. Such a sad tale
